Agreed, 90 seconds seems way too harsh, that will put them down in 5th?
Edit: Dagys reporting the penalty is actually for contact with the leading GTC car. |

Also, why wasnt Scott Sharp at Long Beach and the second BMW today penalised at all for blocking leaders despite multiple laps down? Im a Ford GT fan, but this blocking penalty stuff is pretty stupid. One of the same reasons I stopped watching Chimp Car in its final years.

So Wolf took out the 2nd place GTC and then tried to do the same to the Ford GT? heheh
All because, as he said on TV, the car was really slow at the end. "Must do anything to keep in front" BAM BAM BAM |

A series of odd events has made the race partly exciting towards the end, certainly worth watching when it comes on speed tomorrow.

I was really pleased to see both Dyson cars finish today. The 2nd car looks like it will be a solid addition to the LMP field as well. Kane was super fast with a best lap only 0.07 sec behind Smith. Al Masaood also had a good run coming up through the field, and kept the car clean before handing it over.

Well, I agree with you on that (Laguna), not a Porsche fan but a fan of good racing in GT.

That Boon guy was a frickin' joke. Slow as hell and took out about 4 cars in one go, and I'm not even done watching!

Murphy the Bear Twitter commentary of Jarrett Boon is hilarious.
Then, an Indycar fan (assume because he posts on trackforum) who doesnt follow sports car racing that often, asks Murphy this simple question: “Admittedly I'm not a close follower of the series, but how is ALMS not financially busted yet?” |

Dyson's pitstops (at least for the #16) were still a bit rough to say the least, but ultimately it did not matter with the Cytosport car having some contact issues throughout the day. Dyson is in a pretty good spot as far as points go. They just need to keep finishing races. Speaking of which, Dunlop could very well end up with LMP1 and GT tire championships if BMW keeps running as well as they have. Who would have expected that a couple of years ago? They backed up their double 1-2s in qualifying with two wins. Falken had a great run going until the penalty. I understand that Henzler and the Pumpelly/Ende car had an issue on the last lap that impacted the GTC victory, but what happened exactly? Last edited by AGD; 10 Jul 2011 at 20:43. |

ESPN highlights show said that it was for making more than one move to block the 04 Ford GT back to fourth after the Falken Porsche ran out of fuel/fuel pick up issue last turn last lap.

Slow compared to the other LMP1's yes. But he was able to get through the GTE cars and a few LMPC's I believe, which is something. It was his first real multi class race with professionals, he did much better than some others have. I don't want to judge him based on one race, but he seems at least as good as the Lord was last season.
