Paddockman should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Ibsley Race Circuit

Any forum users have memories of Ibsley Race Circuit (near Ringwood Hants)

I believe it was used in the fifties and its old site is just down the road from me.

No it was an airfield. last used in May 55-for an F.Libre race won by Roy Salvadori in Maserati 250F.
Circuit length 2.09 miles-organized by West Hants & Dorset Motor Club

Anuauto has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Now a gravel pit? (and heading for landfill?). There is a picture in Chris Nixon's "Mon Ami Mate" of Mike Hawthorn about to drive the last lap there in Rob Walker's 300SL (believed not the same car he later died racing against on the road).
SS_C from here took a look over the hedge there a couple of years ago.

I went there in 1955 to watch my cousin race his new Lister Bristol, a car which he later sold to Austen (Austin?) Nurse who had a bad crash in it. The car was somehow resurrected as a Lister Jaguar which was still racing recently, it bears the original registration number HCH something. The circuit was the perimiter of the old airfield, and was not too popular!

I tried to get in through the fencing the other day, to no avail. I'l have to go back when its darker, I'm in camo and have my armbands on! Sadly too many houses close by now for their ever to be racing, even if it were landfilled succesfully!
