It has unfortunately begun. Yamaha have pulled out of SBK to concentrate more on the new 500 rules.

And some said it would never happen...and I wish it had not.

Your kidding,

after Haga's success on an R7? I have had the pleasure of thrashing an R1 on a deserted country road and will miss the delusions when watching next years series..

this needs to be seen by WSBK as a sign that they have to adapt or lose out big style. Yamaha have already spent a lot of money designing and developing the bike, but obviously dont think that WSBK is worth spending any more on. MCN quoted the guy in charge of Yamahas race programme saying how Haga wanted to stay in WSBK but they persuaded him to go to GP because they wanted to end the R7 programme. If a major manufacturer like Yamaha dont think WSBK is worth the effort what chance of Benelli or MV Augusta joining in?
