Peddler has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Info please... Private race track somewhere on the central coast???

howdy all... i was talking to someone while at Bathurst yesterday and i am now led to believe that there is a private race track owned by some mega dollar dude on the NSW central coast.

I was today talking to someone else who also has an understanding of this track infact being on the central coast. I can not find anything about it at all and call me nosey but i wouldnt mind knowing a little more about it if it infact does exist!

Anyone know anything about it ??? Apparently it isnt just a little goat track, it is a full width and full length circuit similar to Baskerville in Tassie ???

Not the Central Coast but he may be refering to "Darlington Park" which is in "Ormeau/Yatala" midway between the Gold Coast and Brisbane , it is a fully fledged racing circuit which was used for club events .

......used to 'track test' some private road and race cars....
......has a shed on it to look after the test car of the day....
......measured by scale estimates @ around 4.4km long....

I also will jump on the bandwagon regarding more info on this track..

Was about to reply that the 'novocastrians' may have be given the approval for the go ahead for the racing precinct north of raymond terrace, but after living in the hunter for some time this track alludes me...

Senna...have you been here ?....

Shame its an 'unknown' as it looks to be a fantastic track.

Be good to have mega-dollars so as to have a race track in your own backyard. Beats my old skid pan in the top paddock with a hillman for the 'power rush'...

Was up at MSI Karts a couple of months back & sad to report Darlington Park no longer exists. Was being torn up by dozers.

Strong rumours exists that HRT were recently seen testing at this track, after all, it's not far from MS's birth place!!!!

Wow, looks like a great track to have some fun on. Any undulation that you know of?

Not hard to find with Google Earth - suggest that there may be some extra traffic in the area over the next few weekends!

Great find.......

Late last year I was delivery semi's to the track ready for auction. Seems to have been turned into a 'industrial area' these days...

I remember reading in a Coke Amatil annual report at high school that Dean was retiring and intended to build a private race track for exercising his fairly large stable of classic, historic, race, and performance road cars.... the figure was over 30 for memory....but we are talking about 1993-1995-ish.

Amazing that he actually did it....and kept the lid on it largely. It looks like a fantastic race track!!!

Looks like a bloody good circuit to me. Just tracing it out, has a club size circuit or even decent drifting circuit. Work out with a few extra bits could create a state level circuit and obviously the national/international circuit. Nice bit of track to blast around

One thing thou, whoever came up with this layout, should have a go at that proposed circuit at Yatala. Bugger Tilke's designs, this looks like it was designed by a driver, not a architect like he is.

Now where did I leave my set of universal keys for the front gates......

McLaren was smashed on Wakehurst Parkway by a BMW employee who was trusted with the keys (at the time!), not on this property.

The circuit is referred to by the owner as a 'private road', never a race track as Dean Wills has copped plenty of resistance from neighbours about noise etc. Invitation only, with the central circuit being a great kart track. It is not a place to have a big off, with trees and ditches aplenty, and high banks to catch a slide gone wrong as well as minimise noise.

If ever invited, expect to enjoy a good walk with other drivers to sweep leaves, sticks and gumnuts from the surface to ensure the best possible grip and safety on what is essentially a fantastic targa-like road.

For anyone wanting to find it , Kulnura is left at the Gosford exit on the Freeway going north of Sydney, start looking for Mangrove Mountain and Kulnura will be there. About 15 min drive from the exit.

Some piccies of this track would be very nice indeed....

Using the Google Earth path thing by the looks of things the circuit is about 4.9 kilometres around, pretty damn decent really.

The corners look the be about 7.8 metres wide as well so it's not super wide but a good four car widths.
