I agree that Brands, while a good spectacle, doesn't exactly suit DTM in terms of close racing. Donington would probably be better

DTM used to go to Donington - I don't remember the racing being much different there. If anything I prefer Brands - you're nearer to the cars (and it's much easier for me to get to ).

What in the world is up with the anti lag on the Astons? Surprised their turbo last a full weekend

Kymi Ring has been discussing that DTM could go there in the near future.

Seems a reasonable idea. DTM has been in Finland in 90s and with emphasis on 'internationalisation' going to a new circuit in Finland could be a possible solution. What I wonder about is whether DTM could attract many people there.

Well they tried to make DTM go global with the ITC and that was doomed to fail. So obviously try not to get too carried away

Could not agree more, DTM at Brands was underwhelming, again.

I have listed below the number of overtaking moves (after the first lap)into Paddock Bend during the 55 minute plus 1 lap race.

...... zero!

Well I thoroughly enjoyed it The cars are impressive enough to watch to compensate for a lack of overtaking - walking around the circuit and watching how they take the various corners (and the differences in the way each make performs) kept me busy. Seriously impressive.

I agree the spectacle is good, but it doesn't do a lot for the racing, as it is hard to overtake there

Yes, and also Anderstorp is in the pipeline.

Monza is planned as start of season, instead of Hockenheim (maybe better weather in April/May)...

DTM has never been to Monza as far as I can remember, so it's going to be interesting to see if it does happen

I love Anderstorp but would it be up standard for DTM to run there? Haven’t heard much of the circuit in recent years.

Be cool if Blancpain Endurance ran there-it’d be like BPR or FIA GT all over again

It was stated, that Anderstorp has Grade 2 rating (hope i am right with name) from FIA, so DTM should be ok.

I've got that impression as well. They started quite reasonably and then it kind of slowed down.

Great end to the season, interesting strategy there from Green and Eriksson. Good to see JB up there in the first race. It was great to finally have that Super GT/DTM linkup in action. And it was good to see Rast out there as champion. I can only hope the Astons can have a better season next time

That said, why do Freesports insist on putting in 4 ad breaks in the middle of a race less than an hour long? Especially as they could easily put them in pre race and post race. And they could have put one in during the red flag, but chose not to. Someone has their priorities wrong!
