Just a quick note to say thank you to all the Trainers, helpers and attendees for making today's Cadwell Park Training Day a success.
Good weather and good company helps. A special thanks to Lynne for the excellent DVD - John certainly didn't see that one coming! - and to MSV for excellent catering as always. (keep an eye on YouTube - the DVD may appear there yet). I trust all that attended enjoyed themselves and found it of benefit. Here's to a great season for 2009. |

another informative day filled with some surprises.
Congratulations to Nathan on being awarded the Chris Swan award very well deserved. This guy has gone through in one season what most of us hope they never have to deal with. He has done what was asked of him when asked and has even gone beyond what was expected. Congratulations also go to Stephanie, following on in a long line of family commitment to marshaling. She has worked paddock and assembly at various circuits around the country, from her 14th birthday. She even at the CSCC meeting of 2007 when it clashed with the GP she took the daunting role of chief paddock and managed to keep the weekend flowing with out any body noticing that she was singlehanded in her duties. She has since worked the phones at Cadwell another task she has taken on board like a true professional. She managed to be the youngest to be accepted to work paddock at the British Grand Prix where she worked copse gate. Her 16th birthday was midweek and thus meant she could not do her first stint "on the bank" untill the weekend which just happend to be the 2CV 24hr of 2008, so began her debut bank session where she covered all aspects of marshaling in all weathers and through the night. She has gone on to marshal at the Britcar 24hr plus other meetings. Today she was rewarded for her efforts by recieving the David Leslie Cadet Marshal of the Year for the BMMC North East region as well as the National David Leslie Cadet Marshal of the year. To say the family is proud of her goes with out saying. Also today was sad day for Cadwell as dad finished his very final duty by taking the Post Chief sessions, but before this was started he was suitably embarrassed, moved and thoroughly congratulated on his numerous years as Cadwell Chief marshal various presentations were made including the soon to be infamous tribute video. Thanks to all trainers and to the staff for the refreshments. Last edited by Dean Watson; 18 Jan 2009 at 20:20. |

I'll echo the other comments, a well run, informative day. The DVD was brilliant, well done in putting it together. Nathan is certainly a worthy recipient of the trophy, well done! Now looking forward to the track day & the start of the season.

I couldn't make this, but as usual it sounds like a very good day was missed.
See you on Saturday, and then later in the year when the racing starts. |
