Isnt it exciting that the V8s are going to Pukekohe.
I spend weekends in my youth at that track, watching anything that went around. I am pleased to see it part of the Aussie V8 calander. Hope it is really sucessful and will continue. |

Marcus, yeah, the ones that raced at the Liqour King Drive Safe 500, and why the heck a bloody alcohol retail chain sponsors it who knows. The series only last season introduced the later model VT/AUs and older, was previously a series full of VL's and the odd Ford. Great racing most of the time, but with about half the hp of v8supercars they aint spectaculor.
Super GT's is basically old muscle cars, and sports cars, a bit mish mash. Top team when they turn up for it is the Lightening Direct Porsche team, lead by Owen Evans, a fast fella who has held land speed records here. THe 2nd race is usually a handicaped race, which while doesnt please some drivers, i must say is very entertaining. How many Aussies do you all think will travel here for it, there would definitely be a few I suppose? |

Not sure how many aussie's are going over ..I would love to go but of course Im not but I hope ya's have a ripper of a time and i must say welcome to the world of v8 Supercar racing fulltime. its taken a while but it should be worth it..and hopefully team Kiwi can have a good one over there as well. |

What's the exchange rate? But id say it would be similar, probably slightly cheaper than the average permanant race track prices...

I think it is very possilble that Jason can bring the car home in the top ten, without any dramas of course. This guy has done hundreds of laps around Puke, and the team have also done a little bit of testing in Larrys VT so would have a little data to work with. Surely you cant put anything past the pro teams, they are cetainly a step above TKR, but Jason knows every little nook and cranny of the bumpy curcuit and he has shown inhis battles with Angus in the NZ 2ltr class that he can drive a very defensive line on a curcuit he knows well. The only thing that could let them down apart from dramas i suppose is their lack of HP, given the nature of the curcuit and the fact that Puke is regarded as one of the fastest curcuits of the Southern Hemisphere this may let them down.

Yeah a bit of HP would help, and I'd say a little HRT sytled luck wouldn't go astray...
