Spa replaces Imola attention grabber!

Autosport is saying that Spa could replace Imola next year.

Senior sources within the paddock claim the failure of Imola to make necessary improvements to its facilities, demanded in its contract with F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, leaves it open to being dropped.
However, the article makes me wonder if there is anything in this at all. The quotes are all to do with Imola and never suggest Spa. All the reasoning seems to suggest that Imola has more chance and that it is to reduce european races anyway. It is probably just using Spa to get people attention (I'd rather read about Spa than Imola anyday!)

Has anyone heard anyhing else. Is there any chance tht we could get Spa back. I'd sacrifice any other GP for it!

I would like it too, but apart from the inital attention grabber, there appears to be little in it. There are hints that Imola may lose it's GP, but not that Spa will take it's place.

WHOA... Yeah, I'd love to see Spa back on- and Imola always brings back bad memories anyway.

Would bve grand but as has been said the article really doesn't give spa much hope. It basically relies on the Belgium government recinding the tobacco ad ban, which, seeing as it's been turned down twice already, seems unlikely.

I hope to see Eau Rouge back in the calendar, but my hopes are not too big.

Maybe!

There are elections on the 18th of May so the new government might just make an exception for F1...

Or maybe they are saying we need a place where tobacco advertising will stay legal...Mongolia/Russia/nez Zealand maybe?
