According the Touring Car World book (edition 2006) the Volvo S40 and S60 are FIA homologated.

Yes, they do have a FIA homoligation, but for the S60 that was the old Prodrive cars, and the current S60s doesnt fit under taht homoligation, they only have a national homoligation for the current cars, as far as I know.

That is correct. The STCC have done a lot of dispensations for the Volvo S60 recently.

It's not a problem to enter a national homologated car in one or two WTCC events. But if a privateer decides to enter a full WTCC season with a Volvo or Audi, would it be a allowed?

As far as I know the WTCC organisation makes individual evaluations of cars that want to enter for a race or more. Apparently the S60 was approved.

Only one of the Volvo's will be on the grid - Robert Dahlgren, joining fellow Swedes Rickard Rydell (Chevrolet), Fredrik Ekblom (RBM BMW), Nicklas Karlsson (Chevrolet) and Carl Rosenblad (Elgh Motorsport BMW) on the grid.

So only 1 Volvo?
