What is the go with the bent Carrera Cup panels? Or the driving suits....

Is Mrs Richo making JR clean out the garage????

The Escort is claimed to be an ARC winner, so it would be a fair old rocket if in good nick

It would be interesting to know the identity of one 'pcarbuckle'; an opportunist or a genuine collector?

One could hope that JR himself is not having to raise cash for this October's foray at the Mountain.

The pics were taken inside Mr Richards' home workshop, at Park Orchards in Victoria... so JR would have to be involved at some level in these sales.

Perhpas Mr Brock should empty his wardrobe of old racing suits... there would have to be near 100 in there... at a couple of thousand a pop, it could be a nice earner also

Very interesting photos GTRMagic, thank you. I have some photos of Jim Richards´ BMW but not these.
I would like to ask you for info:
1st photo: Jim Richards (obviously) and Tony Longhurst in 1986?
2nd photo: Jim Richards and Tony Longhurst in 1987?

Thanks in advance.

I believe the 1st photo (from the http://www.groupc.org.au/ website) is or Mr Gulson Sr and Mr Gulson Jr after they took delivery of the late 1986-built BMW 635CSi from Mr Gardner's JPS equipe, hence the Dulux logos on the side in place of the ciggie brand.

The 2nd photo is of the Viacard BMW, which was Tony Longhurst's early 1987 championship car, sold off to Mr Crowe's Archibald team... if I am right, and this is Calder... it is more likely that Trevor Crowe is at the wheel of this car at this round...

Thanks again GTRMagic. And certainly that GroupC web is very interesting, it isn´t easy to get photos here in Europe.

plonkey has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Starting to make sense.. I was told that Jim was doing the rounds at the last Carrara cup meeting looking to fill a sponsor's gap which is due to appear at the end of this season.

There shouldnt be too much trouble finding a sponsor for the multiple champion surely?

I have read many times where Richo has stated he would prefer to run the "fun" events like Targa Tassie and Classic Adelaide rather than the circuit racing series' too...

Perhaps Mr Richards wont be returning to Carrera Cup next season as a teamowner?

The RS2000 looks like the 1978 ARC winner, driven by Greg Carr. Colin Bond ran the Ford works team and drove another RS2000.

Now if there had been some JPS BMW stuff I'd be in more trouble with the wife, I've already spent enough on ex Jimmy stuff.

That widget would happen to be a 12volt light, hooked up to the car battery, in case of a late night break-down in the forest.

The #27 Dulux 635csi pictured int he previous was indeed at GTR mentioned being steered by the Gulson's, this pic os from Round 1 of the 1987 ATCC at Calder.

The car got a dash of red at the front and yellow at the rear before the year was out (because of Dulux), but still kept the Gold with the black. It's last Bathurst start was 1993, still with the Gulson's (Tania Gulson's only Bathurst start) but back in black.

Depending on how many Escort's Colin Bond's team built over the years, as well as being the 1978 ARC winner with Greg Carr, this is also likely the Escort with which Carr/Gocentas waged a great war with Ari Vatanan/David Richards (Masport Escort) in the 1980 Castrol International Rally (basically todays Rally of Canberra). Vatanan finally got the break before rolling right in front of the ABC camera's, and lost the rally to Carr (a video is available of this rally, a really gerat watch).

How did Jim end up with it?
