Royale RP32
I am currently in the process of rebuilding a Royale RP32 Formula Ford 2000 and was just wondering if anybody knows anything about them. So far I know its a 1983 chassis but im wondering if it has always ran with wings or are these a modification. Any help would be great even just pictures.

Contact Alan Cornock at www.racingcarsforsale.co.uk
Alan owned Royale when they were building these cars.He also still supplies spares for the old Royale cars. If it is a FF2000 then it should be fitted with wings. |

Not many RP32's made i don't think. I remember John Bartlett driving one in FF2000, but not at the front.

The RP32 was a 1982 FF2000, the RP31 being the similar FF1600 car. The 32 had some 'ground effects' features, but was wholly unsuccessful. Only a few were made, Fulmar Taylor had one, can't recall who else. Up against the classic VD RF82, with Senna amongst others, the RP32s were outclassed. Not a bad looking car as I remember, just not quick enough. It was a narrow nose car, with wings front and back.

Nick Pearce drove one for a while when he first joined the URS FF2000 Classic Championship. Eddie Wilkins had one for sale quite recently although I think it was a converted 1600. We have a lot of experience with RP27 and Rp 30's but not RP32. There is a book about the history of Royale's called "Nowhere to Hide" by Graham Lawrence. It has a lot of pictures of all Royale's including the RP32.

Charles Tilley ran an RP32 with Humbrol Paints sponsorship in 82. He is a regular at Combe, and until 2002 ran Nick Jones in the Castle Combe FF1600 championship. Would think he would have lots of info on the car for you.
