Tim Wilkinson should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
DMN 2007 - rules, regs, drivers, cars. (Formerly DTRC)

I'm surprised no-one has started this before, even if there has been talk in other threads.

So who's coming out to play, and what in? Any gossip on new cars or drivers?

What are the rule changes from last year? (sorry, I missed the chat at Brands) Will the "Tintops" have a pre-determined calendar, or be as and when a grid can be bought? And any news on the calendar for DTRC itself?

Discuss....

Well all of the championship/series regs are in the process of being finalised, as is the DTRC calendar, they will be revealed shortly...there could be some interesting differences in the calendar.

Tin-tops will have a pre-determined calendar, although will sometimes have to be combined with the sports and saloons in order to get the numbers needed to fill grids to be able to give the prices we strive for, they will however have their own races too.

Im out again. Engine is being rebuilt and the axle is being 5 linked. Car is also being repainted. What with getting this done, I have to get Dave Whites 24v Twin turbo MK2 escort (class A obviously) ready for the start of the season, along with the new van, which needs to be racked out etc. In between all this lot I have to go to work to pay for it all. Hopefully secured a sponsor for next year to supply tyres, so should mean 2-3 sets a year, instead of 1 set every 3 years

Busy boy!

You changing colour then andy?

The off season is kind of annoying, all these changes and new cars and that means I have to get used to a whole new set of cars and if people change numbers and that I get even more confused!

Its staying the same colour, i couldnt change it. Its been that colour since i built it back in 1992. The body work just needs tidying up after 6 seasons of graft.

Don't panic Chezza, the lickle yella Escort will always be Yellow .... unless a blinding sponsorship deal comes Andy's way to take over from cup of coffee between races sponsorship.

(how many coffees do i owe you now Andy?)

Tin Tops calendar will be available at the London show so I'd guess the DTRC (or whatever it'll be called) will make its calendar known then too.

Doctor allowing, I will be out in the Fiesta again, probably in Tin Tops for 2007. If the diabetes stops me getting a race licence, not sure.
Fiesta would have to get sold.
Could always volunteer to get involved in the organising, I guess?
Got any ideas Chezza?

My battle-scarred CRX is coming back out, but with added VTEC power in the form of a new engine and 'box and some nice shinies on. Once I grow a new arm and leg (the ones Mr Quaife removed ) then we'll be tidying the whole car, respraying and removing some unwanted heavy bits (me notwithstanding).

I hope to save about 50kg overall, but we're keeping it the same colour and I have done a little deal with a supplier for some cheap bits so his logo's will be on the car.

And I hope to do the whole season next year too. I joined late this season but will be a little more competitive with more power and a little more experience. Can't wait!

Well, if I have time and loose change between going around in circles at Rockingham, I'll be out a few times I'm sure. Subject to getting one cylinder head repaired, and fixing the wibbly wobbly steering issues.

It might be tempting to fit the road course setup kit to my new toy and try it out turning right as well as left.

Rob.

I will be back out with the Mini again hopefully it will have a bit more power and a little less weight.Still trying to squeeze a Duratec under the front of Bills Metro it is now starting to get complicated what with bits of Rover,Ford and Vauxhall being grafted together.

I'll be out in the ashtray again, but not sure if Tin Tops /DTRC both or a mix of both.new engine in bits at present - coughed up for steel rods, but yet to buy cams. Ported head has coscast stamped on it, and pistons have SBD Omega stamped on them, so I'm hoping for a bit more grunt with relaibility out of this one. Bodywork staying all steel, as it has to weigh at least 980 kg if its to be eligable for the RCN (Rundstreckenchallenge) in 2007.
Brother should be out in Tomcat again, complete with shiny new hybrid turbo.
Phil has got quite a lot lined up for the fester, but I'll let him or maggot spill the beans on that ! Have nice new trailer & Transit for next year.

p.s. i won't be at the show at the weekend - going to Hamelin to keep swmbo happy - If anyone can PM or mail any dates that are given out at the show, it would be much appreciated.

Merry Christmas one and all
Alan

I know it was discussed on the Brands thread but does DTRC normally have a meeting over August BH weekend? As per this year already got clashes there!
