Le Mans Tyre Question

I remember reading somewhere recently that a car (and I really can't remember which) went the whole 24 hours without changing tyres. I guess that this used to happen frequently (pre 1939 at least), but does anyone know the last time this happened?

Unfortunately, I don't know the answer, but I would guess sometime in the 1960's.

Cheers
Mike
