Obviously you had media credentials......?

Yep, and only temporary photo tabard for my first Le Mans, so had to make the most of it and get around as much as I could - Playstation Chicane, Indianapolis, Porsche Curves, Dunlop Bridge for dawn etc

Hopefully be back next year with a permanent tabard.

It seems we've been to Group C paddock at about the same time!

And I see the Veskanda guys have caught your attention as well. They were very open and were happy to talk about their car.

Absolutely. Walter and I walked right up and asked if we could get an up close and personal view of their car and they were more than hospitable. Never heard of that car, but it was an impressive beast.

great shots, you did very well it was a pity those two old guys got in the way for one of the pictures but the rest were really good

Indeed, I've had the same situation when I asked them whether I could take close-up shots of the car. I've seen this vehicle before in the webs, but still it was great to witness it in metal, as it was hard to expect a rare Australian historic racer there in Europe. I was told that they're running a whole FIA Historic season in Group C, so those who missed it in Le Mans may still catch it elsewhere if their plans materialize.

Some lovely shots there Robert, particularly of the slim and youthful looking gentleman in the yellow coat... The silhouetted ones of the crowd I like a great deal to!

Any tips on how you managed to get that? As a journalist I've been trying to get press accreditation for the past two years and never received a reply.

Applied via a magazine that has had accreditation in 2011. They were invited to apply again, so this time I went (last year it was a journo, but I'll be attempting to write some semblance of an article for the mag to accompany my pics)

Sorry Ayse, i wanted to wander down the pitlane as i didn't have the required fireproof suit or skateboard helmet, so Saturday lunchtime was my once chance in pitlane. Then i had to go there, there, there, back round there, there, got up early and went there, stood there for a little and then ended up there at the end. After 3 years away I was just itching to get working.
