So the third Mobil 1 Racing Sierra was crashed by Barry Sheene, then rebuilt, and subsequently crushed to avoid import duties???

There were 3 race cars built- 2 Rouse sourced chassis and a locally built Dencar chassis. One of the Rouse cars was crashed by Barry Sheen and junked, one went back to the UK via New Zealand and Andrew Mediecke now owns the Dencar chassis. There was also a promotional car built up in 1990. You can work out which one is being offered for sale.

Where did the third Brock entry, driven by Tony Noske, in rounds of the 1990 ATCC come from. Sheene's crash happened in 1989 correct?

I think the car was slowly rebuilt after Sheene's crash and used by Noske in 2 or 3 Rounds early in 1990 then used by Miedecke later in series (when his car getting rebuilt for enduros) and rolled at Mallala in crash and then I think car was scrapped.

The ex Rouse car Brock drove in the 1989 ATCC used by Brad Jones in enduros then became Miedecke's car in 1990 now back in England.

The dencar built Sierra used by Brock in enduros in 1989 and through 1990 now owned by Miedecke.

there is so much ambiguity about these cars why would you spend the coin.

The problem is back in the group C/A era, after a leading car's job was finished, only the newer replacement car really mattered.
Once a category was finished, the obsolete cars were not worth much. Sierras were particularly hard to move on once group A had finished.

Now these cars are worth a fortune, and an accompanying detailed vehicle linage is expected. It's just this situation was never really anticipated when the cars were originally being disposed; and piecing their details together now relies on the efforts of amateur historians

One would have to be dubious of any car in that particular collection.

What happened to Miedecke's Kenwood car he used in the second half of 1989? (the one built to replace the one burnt out at Lakeside)

The story I was told Miedecke took the car to Brock's and it was used as a show car, then was sold to someone who was going to rebuilt it as a rally car.

The 1982 / 1983 winner. Wouldn't you dress it as the 83 winner since it feels like that's what it's more famous for (also an inaccurate sunbuster on the windscreen is infuriating)

https://www.supercars.com/news/champ...or-2-1million/

“The auction in Bathurst began with Walkinshaw Andretti United’s current #2 Commodore ZB Supercar going under the hammer.

Offered without an engine and for collection at the end of the 2019 season, it sold for $230,000,“

Christ that’s cheap. Nice track day toy.

Engine and running gear would be less than another 200. Still cheap for what you’re getting.

Anyone catch some of the final selling values?

I briefly saw the #05 VL Group A went for $800k, the VH 82/83 car for over $2M; the VR HSV Mobil promo car for $77k, and the B8 EA for $25k.

Please explain, a GTHO Phase 3 Falcon driven by Brock went for $800,000-when did Brock drive a GT Falcon?

He drove it for a 1992 Wheels comparison article, which can be read/viewed here:

The 84 VK was passed in at 800K.

Wonder if the Sierra had a UK buyer. Given the demand for them over there, it might explain the price?

Thanks for that Forda.

Should have sent my old Tech Drawing case to the auction, with the Brock HDT sticker on it- could have gone for at least $5.
