I just found these forums. I have been looking for information like this and Mulsanne's for quite some time. I have some questions about the 900's I hope you guys can answer for me or point me to where I can get them answered. There's alot so I'll just list them


What is the typical range for ground clearance?

What is a typical range of chassis stiffness for a monoque car?

What is a typical range of chassis stiffness for a space frame car(MKIIIc)?

Where can I find pictures of these cars without body panneling(other than Mulsanne's)? IE detail pictures of the tubs, chassis etc.

Are there any good schematics of cars (with or without measurements)?


I would like anything along the lines of websites, technical publications, manufacturers literature etc. Basically as much of anything pertaining to these vehicles I can get my hands on will be helpful.

But Mulsannes Corner is pretty much the best place IMO.....But ive sometimes gotten success contacting manufacturers...I mean, dont expect to get many sneak peaks at chassis of new cars stating that you are an interested college student.....but many are often happy to share information and pictures of older model cars.

1-3 inches. These flat bottom cars always run at a rake, so the rear is higher than the front in order to produce downforce. The LMPs also have to have 3 small rub blocks 20mm high along the rear axle line of the car, affixed to the flat bottom. This is so that teams don't run less than an inch of clearance at the back, something that makes flat-bottomed cars very unstable at high speeds (remember the Mercedes flip in 1999).

Mulsanne's links section is a good place to start. A search on Google should work well too. Tim Crete's site (http://www.fastdetails.com) is good as well. Finally, I occasionally take those sorts of photos too (http://www.pha.jhu.edu/~jdavies/sportscars).

Yes, I think Mulsanne's is the best info site available, but it really just wet my appetite. FastDetails also had some of the kinds of shots I was looking for.

A few more question if you don't mind

Are there any year end technical reviews published, anything in print at all? We already get Racetech and and Racecar eng.

Also, how do venturi tunnels compare to front and rear diffusers?

diffusers and venturi tunnels are really the same thing, the tunnels are just called so because they're so long and high, xo they look like tunnels
