DTM 2020

A new, exciting calendar for 2020 has been revealed with one 'TBA' round in May. Apart from four German tracks (Nürburgring, Hockenheimring, Norisring and Lausitzring) there are rounds at Zolder, Assen, Monza, Brands Hatch and Anderstorp.

Also, for the first time since 2000 Hockenheim is held just once with Zolder serving as a season opener.

There's also possibility of a new support series, one-make Aston Martin Vantage Cup.

Hockenheimring at the end of may?

They will do everyting possible to get 2 times DTM in 2020, after losing the F1 race next year!

It may be Monaco. The DTM date is a week after the F1 GP, the infrastructure is already there. Although that would mean a third weekend in May after the Historic Grand Prix (8-10 May) and the F1 Grand Prix (22-24 May). According to the Automobile Club de Monaco a third weekend is not possible:

But DTM could always use people/resource from the Norisring to solve (most of) that problem.

DTM at Monaco would be about as expensive as FIA GT at Macau.

Cant imagine anything more boring than DTM at Monaco.

These cars need room to muddle with each other. Zandvoort shows that. Why waste another calendar slot on a procession.

Would it be possible to hold a race weekend during the test days at the complete 24h Le Mans circuit? It should be the weekend of the test days there next year.

Honestly saying I don't think it's a great addition to the calendar. As far as I remember DTM rounds in Moscow weren't well-attended and I'd be surprised if it's different in St Petersburg. I know DTM goes for internationalisation and I like it but still I'd rather see Oschersleben or Red Bull Ring than Igora Drive.

I'd rather they would do as many rounds as they can in Germany, with overseas tracks filling the rest

Yep they have a huge following in Germany so it's not right to take the series away from German fans. Especially if they go to Russia instead.

Russia is an important market for the German brands. I would guess BMW and Audi are happy.
