Hybrid is good for me in this sense that it replaced ballast system and reduced some part (or perhaps big part) of the 'randomness' of results. But is hybrid per se (in the BTCC context) something extremely good? IMO doesn't add anything to the show or the championship - maybe some marketing value but for the spectator it doesn't really change things.

I'm not a fan but the series needs to be seen to be 'doing its bit' along with things like banning single use plastic in the paddock.

Well not sure he’ll be more competitive in the Cupra than the Hyundai but good luck to him.

So that’s four at Hard. Five if Taylor-Smith is still with the team, with the extra Boardley TBL I guess? Looks like Hamilton is out.

Speaking of drivers confirmations, there was a bit of uncertainty here on the forum regarding whether Ash Hand will stay despite the 'multi-year' contract. Just yesterday noticed his post on Instagram where he mentions the 'touring car season coming soon' and puts BTCC hashtag so I guess it's now certain he remains on the grid - probably, as intended, with PMR.

With the Butel announcement, the four TBLs owned by HARD. are tied up.

Taylor-Smith has confirmed that he is 'Over the moon to welcome @HakoMachines as a critical partner to my 2023 BTCC Season!' and the team's previous press released covered 2023 with the team.

I have moved him down in the table just because it is a bit unclear which TBL will be used be HARD. (if he stays with the team). Both a Moffat or Boardley TBL could already be linked with HARD. previously.

The press release for Butel does not make any confirmation of 'completing' the lineup at HARD.

I reckon that's probably what will happen unless ATS has found a better deal elsewhere.

Hamilton was linked with Speedworks Toyota in 2021 (or '22 I can't fully remember) - with Speedworks having 3 TBLs I wonder if he could be an option there.
I'm aware that Toyota's financial contribution is probably minimal, but I've always felt that given Toyota's sponsorship of para-sports and the Paralympic Games it would be good for brand marketing to have a para-athlete in one of their racing cars.

The Hako story doesn't specifically mention what team/car he will be in during 2023, although there a lot of references to HARD/Cupra from last year.

I assume HARD will be using either Boardley's TBL or they have acquired one from Moffatt. I'm guessing the former.

According the 5 minute love-fest on the local ITV news just now, he's moving up the grid and aiming for the top 10.

Best of luck to the guy but it's not as if the Hyundai was a bad car last year.

Think he would be a good fit to replace Jackson at Motorbase too, think those are really the only ‘competitive’ seats left other than One Motorsports in the Civic again. Assuming he’s still got Cataclean’s backing I’m sure he can afford either.

Seen pretty much nothing out of Speedworks all winter. Might’ve expected to have seen some cars testing by now too? Maybe it’s still too early.
