Maybe I am the only one bitter and twisted about this but....
The millions the V8 crowd insisted be spent on new pit facilities at Wanneroo looks a little like wasted money given they are the only ones to use it and there will not be any pitstops this year.

Basically, yes. Club races use the old pit lane on the outside of the circuit as the access to the new pits is non existant for cars etc once the track is in use.

Yes, and for more than one reason unless they've tested them separately (can they though?). Here's two of them;

a) If performance is better, you then have to establish where exactly the improvement came from.

b) If one upgrade is a success, and the other is a step back (it happens), thereby offsetting the gain, what worked and what didn't?

Heady stuff!

Who funded the building of the pits?

If it was anyone other than V8Supercars, then what a major waste of money.

Was in use by all in the Wanneroo 300 last year.

No where else to build a pit lane able to park up b doubles behind.

The state government. The V8 crowd insisted they have it and it was basically built for them.

It was stage 1 of upgrades of the whole circuit/pits I believe, I'm glad that v8SC got the govco to spend money on upgrading the circuit. Hopefully it also safeguards the circuit from the push of suburbia for a while longer now with govco money being spent on it.

Yeah well I am not having a go at the club. They did unbelievably well in the sense that they maximised the small amount of money they were given. $5 Mill (or whatever it was) for all that is really good in this day & age. Cheaper than a billion dollars footy ground and better than so many other laughable projects various governments lavish money on.

I just wish (Like most people I guess) that a new pit facility could have been built on an extended circuit. It may still happen. (Fingers crossed) But untimately it wasnt really the clubs choice what to build.

Arguably a less risky strategy is to run only one or two of the cars with the new setup, and keep the existing package for at least one of them, until it is sorted...

WP may learn something from this, updating both #2 and #22 and not troubling the timesheets too much till it got to happy hour...

Lets see what comes of it...

Amazing.. those DJR cars looked awful over the bumps & kerbs at Adelaide.. presumably an FPR-inspired tweak or 11 has done something positive for the team.

Qualifying will be interesting... between the teammates...

This leads to 3 interesting possibilities

1. V8 supercars read my earlier comment and went and questioned lowndes on his form in the sprint races.
2. Peckstar knew what v8supercars were going to write
3. Lowndes really does have a problem with the sprint race format, which interestingly enough he though would suit him before the tassie round started.

My opinion Lowndes has jumped the shark.
Lowndes jumped the shark when he sha@t on Holden & HRT in 1999.

The cars are identical and both have aid from FPR with setups. It's all driver, but why is anyone surprised anyway, Blanchard has never impressed in his V8 Career.
