In defence of that area of the country, don’t think they were all from there- Reading back a few pages Lanky posted that at least one lived on a traveller site in Leicestershire...

I should have included 'allegedly' really, although I saw a rather odd comment where one of them pointed out they were not from Ireland but from Liverpool. I suppose it is quite close.

John, are you sure those people are Brit's actually? I wonder because your description… you know… littering anywhere and so on… If we had to punish this kind of comportment here we could go from 66M people to circa 20M I guess. In this case, we'h had to ask Italy to send us some migrants to do some jobs. Like president for instance…

I don't know and have not really got any young people I know who I could ask (or perhaps observe). It will be interesting to see how the Grandchildren develop. The older of them is just 3. He was into books for a year from about 1 to 2 but now seems mostly disinterested. However his ability to watch video cartoons and play with an enormous selection of noisy toys seems unbounded. There are some signs that toys that encourage some form of creativity and imagination may win the day and that books could make a return to his daily interests at some point but whether the educational system will support that as he passes through it we can only wait and see. |

Mostly of no value. So no change there. I think the usually thing of government (Lawmakers as the American call them) is to make rules and restrictions. They understand that stuff, especially if it comes with financial considerations. So penalties for non-performance and for make poor decisions on behalf of their customers (the voters) might offer greater focus for their endeavours. Penalties to apply retroactively if future outcomes show that previous decisions have been poor. The measurement period should be at least 50 years irrespective of their period of office. |

But then a traveller site suggests no fixed abode by definition. There is a large field near here that was bought by a group of travellers some years ago and they have been living in it for a while now with a nice view of the M1. Recently it seems to have been expanded to include a business of some sort - building materials by the look of it. I could be wrong and I'm not about to venture in there to find out. |

Donington Circuit seems to be doing a lot of promotion of the on-going construction works. These are from their Twitter feed so copied here for information, with acknowledgement of their photo ownership / copyright:

Those pics suggest that it may be a new walk way for anyone parking outside the circuit and walking in to the paddock. I wonder how the noise pattern will change with the wall gone - there does no seem to be much sign of a new wall being built. The additional concrete in the run-off at the old hairpin was something I saw on a trackday video posted a couple of days ago. Not sure why but it popped up as a YouTube suggestion. The short video had a section in which one could see cones sitting on top of the new concrete. I assume that the driver briefing for the day made a point about the work and perhaps described the penalties that might apply if anyone messed it up! |

It's possible that they are planning on placing a camera in there to ping drivers taking a wide line.

Nice CAR EB but can you resize the pic? It's running past the screen edges!

Yeh, my iPad browser is automatically resizing the pic as well, so didn’t notice the issue!

Yes, E.B its a surprise and a good one, thanks a lot!!! Cant remember if it was just before the Camaro taking over the Capri or just after the Capri taking over the Yank Tank!!! Must be the right/left after Pouhon and before Stavelot but not quite sure. May be with more camber on the front………

Unfortunately not. Did you see what they call a national "consultation"? No choice about the suggested subjects, we can only select among several carefully suggested answers! Could be more simple: pick up people all over the country by bus and give them two tickets, a blue one and a red one. The blue one is for the vote, the red one will be the "back to your home" ticket! Democrawhat???

I had a very nice MK2 before it ran out of brakes at Cadwell Park and finished upside down by the spectator fence.
