Yannick should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
If Graham Rahal now goes to Team Rahal, what's next for Takuma Sato? Do they want to run a 2nd car or does he need to find a drive somewhere else?

Already announced they were moving to WEC in LMP2 next year.

On a different note, Leigh Diffey has been confirmed to replace Bob Jenkins as lead announcer on NBCSN.

Sato needs to find more cash to keep his seat. Lots of crash damage last year.

Maybe. But he only became a total crashoholic in Indycar. He probably needs to attend a CA meeting or something.

Jeff Belskus and Mark Miles did a press conference.

In the speeches, these are the mentions to fans:

In the questions by journalists, they didn't mention fans at all.

That's way off what Randy Bernard used to say: "We need to make sure our fans experience great competition and entertainment at a great value at each and every event." They demand things to fans, but don't promise anything to them.

Great track and it's on my must do list to race there someday.

But with Christina Kirchner's socialist reign of terror on the Argentine economy and cutting to pieces commercial trade and currency trading, I seriously doubt the track will be able to come up with the big US dollars that will be demanded. Nice pipe dream, but I doubt the cars will ever take the grid.

Normally you are right on the money, but Argentina's economy seems to have been improving since the 2002 crisis.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Argentina

Expansionary policies and commodity exports triggered a rebound in GDP from 2003 onwards. This trend has been largely maintained, creating over five million jobs and encouraging domestic consumption and fixed investment. A number of important firms privatized during the 1990s were renationalized beginning in 2003. These include the Postal service, AySA (the water utility serving Buenos Aires), Pension funds (transferred to ANSES), AerolÃ*neas Argentinas, and the energy firm YPF.[32]
The socio-economic situation has been steadily improving and the economy grew around 9% annually for five consecutive years between 2003 and 2007, and 7% in 2008. Argentine debt restructuring offers in 2005 and 2010 resumed payments on the majority of its almost $100 billion in defaulted bonds from 2001.[33] The global recession of 2007–10 affected the economy in 2009, with growth slowing to 0.8%.[2] High economic growth resumed, and GDP expanded by around 9% in both 2010 and 2011.[2] The Argentine government bond market is based on GDP-linked bonds, and investors, both foreign and domestic, netted record yields as a result

The announced 10% inflation figures are a lie. Actual inflation is 25-30%. So all official numbers that use inflation (GDP, poverty, purchase power) are also a lie.

I don't think that Kristina would care that much about an IndyCar race. F1, Dakar and MotoGP are real "look at me, world" events for a politician like her.

Plus, San Luis governor is oppositor. So she won't put a penny. By the way, I think that the attendance at the TC2000 season finale was pathetic.

Didn't she privatize YPF and other state-owned companies? Doesn't sound socialist at all, does it?

But this is an auto racing forum, can't we discuss politics somewhere else? I mean, does it have anything to contribute to IndyCar, if we discuss the economy of Argentina?

Indeed, this is a motor sport forum but Argentina's economy was mentioned in the light of kurski's, post #687
