Sounds like a pretty to calendar to me. Can't wait for the RB Ring.

Which might just be the best TV-package of any sportscar series in the world... I have no idea about Super GT's TV-package, so I might not know what I am talking about.

I didn't follow the GTMasters much before this season but the neat TV-Coverage really makes the difference. I like the new calendar, good to see that we don't do one track twice as it was this year. Two rounds at Oschersleben was really a bit much. The only thing missing is a race at the Norisring.. |

The marketshare.
While the ratings might be respectable from a motorsports point of view, they weren't from a general perspective. The season finale was watched by 350.000 people, the races always got around 3,5-4% market share, Kabel 1 is used to about 7% in that timeslot. Every rerun of a sitcom or whatnot in that timeslot would have gotten better ratings for Kabel1 with much less cost and effort attached compared to a live sports broadcast. That's why I think they keep showing the races as long as someone pays the bill, the ratings itself aren't good enough to justify the effort, especially since it's no sports station but rather a normal entertainment channel. |

I'd think the German commentating would be more interesting than anything Speed can come up with. That would be sweet if Speed had it though, get some American interest in GT3 for maybe the introduction of a NA GT3 series.

Rainer Braun (the German announcer) is quite the legend, but he's getting old and somewhat confused on occassion, which makes his commentary either really fun or rather annoying to listen to always depending on your personal point of view.

Unless Sachsenring is with GT1, I expect to see that one change, as they said that they'd avoid clashes with VLN before the 24 hour race... and then, the VLN-calender isn't official as of now, either.

Yup, but like FIA GT3, the definition of who's a pro and who not is a little iffy, so teams get away with pairing fast youngsters with pros or having line-ups completely made up of young hotshoes like Abt did this year.
With the still somewhat limited level of attention the series is getting pro-pro is probably financially not viable yet, anyway - you'd need some serious outside sponsorship for that. |

Depending on your race experience you should expect numbers around 130-160.000 Euros (Phoenix, ABT & Mühlner numbers) including catering for 6 sponsors each race, but without damage, travel and accomodation expenses.

Just took a look at the Sporting Rules, and it seems like GT-Masters will stick withz the success-ballast system and not switch to the time penalties introduced this year in British GT and the FIA-GT3 European Championship.
