zac510 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
ERC Rd 11 Buxtehude

A bit early for this thread perhaps, but we are loosely planning a quick holiday over and plan to take in part of this event. I cannot find any details for the programme of events. I've never been to European Rallycross before.

I've checked all the usual websites but nothing can be found I imagine it is heats on Saturday, finals on Sunday?

I used to go years ago along with Silver Bullet & the week-end was also the final round of the German championship, & on the Sunday night is the presentation for both championships and "is a reet good do" (cumbrian lingo) & is based in the Festhalla in Buxtehude

On www.estering.de should all the information appear soon. Timing is Sat: Free Practise 1 & 2 and Official Timed Practise. First heat normally starts around 16.00 or 17.00. Sunday the day starts nine-ish with the warmup followed by 2nd and 3rd heat, ending with the finals around 16.00. So if you can only visit one day it's best to go Sunday. But if you only visit Sunday, you'll regret not being there on Saturday too, I'll tell you that
If you are able, you should also visit the 'afterparty' and prizegiving Sunday night.

I'll be there both days, can't wait!

It's only European Championship now, plus there might be a support race for Supernationals again.

Thats a pity, as that made it a good week-end, mind you it will still be a good week-end for everyone there.

zac510, if you can't read the German link then try this www.rallycross.de
it has an English link for the Regs which has a timetable of the event.

Judging by my hangover on the Monday morning last year "is still a reet good do".

Is a good weekend especially if championships are at still at stake.

Decision time soon Euro finals in Gemany or British Championship in Ireland !

Lots of replies already, thanks! Looks like Sunday is the better day indeed.

Our plan is to do Oktoberfest either before or after the event, but it is a complete trek across Germany north to south!

Don't be a fool, stay up north the whole weekend and get drunk in the festhalle. You will not regret it!
Driving down to the Octoberfesten will take you almost a complete day.

I will be in Buxtehude Friday till Monday...

I know what you mean but I am bringing along a couple of friends who are rallycross virgins. To get them to make the trek I have to share it with something they want to do too

And why not going to see the Reeperbahn at Hamburg, just 25 miles down the road, rather than driving 500 miles to Munich...?

It won't be so bad - fly into Hamburg Saturday, tour Hamburg, go to rallycross, drive to Munich on Sunday night, booze up, fly back to work on Tues!

Looks like I am going on my own now. Is there a hostel (or single traveller accomodation) in Buxtehude?

The German round of the ERC is something everybody has to do at least once.
Try to do both days, camp at the circuit, get a paddock pass so you can get into the middle of the circuit. You must go to the presentation in the Festhalle, and stay until you are thrown out in the early hours, even if it means sleeping in your car.
The only other thing you need to remember is some paracetamol for Monday morning
