It's interesting to see how that 'unfair advantage' is playing out.
At the time this point was made, the highest placed BMW in each championship was:
Drivers' - 5th
Manufacturers' - 3rd
Teams' - 6th
Independents' - 1st
Independents Teams' - 1st
Jack Sears - 2nd

After Race 1, the only improvement is Gamble up to 1st in the JST.

The WSR drivers must be useless if they can't use the advantage they have been given?

Was anyone seriously suggesting a boost reduction for the car 5th in the Driver's Championship?

That's about the level of ITV. Zero quality.

They've basically wasted the last 25 minutes of airtime switching channels.

Spot on. It's clear the Focus doesn't suit Ash as well as the Subaru or Infiniti. Cammish seems to be handling it better atm

Great race!

This dumbed-down presentation & commentary is rather annoying.

Jake would do well to look back at Suttons 2021 title year and how he changed his approach. At the moment he has not made the transition from driver who was aiming at occasional good results to one putting a championship challenge together. You cannot throw points away like that in a series that is this tight.

Or even just speak to his fellow BMW driver. Turkington has made an entire career out of playing the long-game.

I'd like to see more variety, all the support races are one make categories. I'd like to see a historic series added, like there used to be in 1993 (?).

Agree. Knew he was gonna throw it away at some point in that race just like race 1. Not a question of if but a question of when

Two consecutive brilliant BTCC races. So far 2022 has been far better than 2021. (Although Brands Indy was the best weekend last season). Tom Ingram now holds a narrow championship lead over Josh Cook but I still think Jake Hill looks like the favourite for the championship. Either way, it will be very close and no need to slow down the BMWs.

They do and the racing is close, but with a 20 car field split into four separate championship classifications you have to wonder what the point is.

Seems like the lapping of the older cars might become problematic, at least on the short circuits.

James Kellett comes across very well.

Round of applause for Josh Cook, that was a hell of a defensive drive in Race 2 - soaked up all of that pressure, his heartrate must have been through the roof.

Where are the crowds? watching on telly here & Brands looks emptier than i’ve ever seen for the BTCC. Shame as the racing’s been excellent.

A poor weather forecast has probably put a lot of locals off going, although the south bank looks quite full.
