If Tasman really backed their engineering capability, as in the ability to tune a chassis, the scenario above would likely be quite clever. To be a customer of someone who already invented the wheel very well would make some sense, with the Tasmaniac engineering team responsible for dialling in the cars off the base settings from the supplier.
The real issue is that with the performance of the current and past cars, they seem virtually unsaleable, such that generating the dollars required to fund the new buys would likely be difficult without further sponsorship or capital injection. |

Maybe something about the organic component. Skaife (tossed by HRT for being too slow) dunced them all at PI.

i still stand by the fact MS still has it and can trounce just about anyone in the field in the right car. i feel all the ownership stress and other stuff weighed on his driving. i believe he should of sold HRT off at the latest 07 and if Walky still wanted him or somebody else went and drove without the pressure he would still go great.
so far the only team owners in the modern era i haven't seen effected by the pressure is the Kelly's but it's early days. |

I'm still not convinced of how much Skaife was actually doing behind the scenes or if he was just the face of the franchise. I do believe he probably would've been better off leaving and giving it a go in another team just to prove himself right and the punters/top brass wrong.
Kelly's do have the help of mum and dad and can always call on Larry for help |

Are the Tasman cars essentially a copy of the WP from a few years back? Is that what Kellys are trying to do too, when they talk of building a 'winning' package? Even if the the engineering method is different, perhaps they know some "numbers" off the WP cars that they are trying to match or better?

Conceptually, but if the income stream from the other 2 cars generates sufficient profit to make their current 2 go better than they are by funding engine or chassis programs they cant afford at the minute, it seems like a means to an end...
