AUTOLEGEND should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2008 Merdeka Millennium Endurance 12 hours Aug 28-30 2008 @ Malaysian Sepang Circuit

Does anyone know if there is a video strea for this event?

Here is some info about it.

2008 Race website.

Youtube vids from the 2007 race.

It seems like a good event, a lot of different competition including many competitors from the Nurburgring 24 hour race.

Wiki writes...

Classes The race is divided into 4 classes:
  • Open for modified racing cars.
  • A for production road cars with engine capacity exceeding 2000cc.
  • B for production road cars with engine capacity exceeding 1600cc.
  • C for production road cars with engine capacity below 1600cc.

I certainly hope so, Lars-Erik Nielsen will defend his title from last year!

Never heard of this one either, but looks like a good race. Malaysia isn't a bad track.

Hmmm hosi's Lotus.

I must admit spending time with the team and the car at the 2005 event will be one of my lasting memories.

This event is underated and needs to be seen.

It is like the old days at bathurst!

Shalders should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Still recovering from finishing the event yesterday evening! It's quite a mix of entries, from some very well supported teams (Petronas Z4s in pictures above) to some rather tatty looking local Protons in the lower classes. There's quite a substantial speed differential between the classes, this year two very fast 911 RSRs were 4-5 seconds quicker than anything else and almost 50 seconds a lap quicker than the slowest cars. Despite this, there were very few safety car periods (but a fair bit of bodywork damage evident on cars at the end!). Circuit is excellent and well suited to such an event. Most of the entries are asian (hong kong, malaysia and singapore) with a few aussies. A control tyre (in the lower classes) and free fuel makes it pretty affordable endurance racing.

Unofficial Results from Petronas Malaysia website

No. Driver Team (Car No) Car
P1 Nicholas Davidson/Darryl O'Young/Mok Weng Sun Team Porsche Club (7) Porsche 997 RSR
P2 Sven Herberger/Lars Erik Nielsen/Mokhzani Mahathir Kencana-Hong Leong Racing (33) Porsche 997 RSR
P3 David Wall/Barton Mower/Damien Flack Danville Motorsports (38) Porsche 996-RSR
P4 Nobuteru Taniguchi/Manabu Orido/Johannes Stuck PETRONAS Syntium Team (28) BMW Z4M Coupe
P5 Ian Ross Geekie/Dean Grant/Marc Cini VRD Motorsports (14) Porsche 996 GT3

So it looks like a Porsche RSR 1-2-3. The official website is a bit slow with updates, can't find any from mid race either......

Ahhh, Lars-Erik Nielsen on second, after defending last years victory. To bad but fair enough I guess.

Thank you for the update!
