Peter Snowdon, who raced for Creation Autosportif at the start of the season, will be joining Henrik Roos and Magnus Wallinder on board the Roos Optima Chrysler Viper GTS-R for the Proximus 24 Hours of Spa. Snowdon remains part of the Creation team, who were instrumental in finding him the drive for Spa. The British driver, previously a specialist of historic races, is looking forward to the challenge, although he has never driven a Viper before. Team owner Henrik Roos explained : "I´m exited. It feels really good and I am very satisfied to get Peter Snowdon. He is a wise driver, which of course is fundamental in a race like this, and he has previous 24 hour race experience. But not only is he a skilful driver, he is also a really nice and funny guy. He will blend in perfectly with the team. I have a very good feeling about this merge." ENDS:/ Wow thats great news, hes going to be in a competitive Viper. Unfortunaltly I belive the drive is a one-off but hey at least hes there rather than at home in England. I belive hes still in line to be in the #2 Creation sport Lister later in the season, correct? |

Alternatively, is there more to this than meets the eye? The other big question is, who's going to get the seat he's just vacated then.....? |

It has been announced that Duncan Huisman, Carly Motors driver in the FIA European Touring Car Championship, will be racing for Creation Autosportif at Spa. The driver from the Netherlands will race the nr 6 Lister Storm alongside regular drivers Bobby Verdon Roe and Marco Zadra. "This is very good news for me; I am very happy," Duncan said afterwards. "I really wanted to do the 24-hour race, and had already been in contact with Ian Bickerton. When Bouchut went back to Larbre, we got back in touch. I have already done the 24 Hours of Spa twice - once in 1994, when we were the youngest team ever to take part in the race, with an average age of 21.5 - and again in 1998 with the official Proximus car, with my brother Patrick and Patrick Sluis. I've never driven a Lister, but I have spoken a lot to Tommy Coronel, and I am quite used to cars with a lot of horsepower. I would really like to get a good result, and to try to fight my brother, who will be in the nr 1 Larbre Viper. I am really looking forward to it." ENDS:/ Looks like Creation have got another good driver, he might not be as good as Bouchet but hes a solid driver. Hes also the current points leader in the ETCC Independants championship. |

I was just looking on www.fiagt.com and found this. http://www.fiagt.com/results.php?eve...03&reporttype= It appears to be the final entry list for Spa 24hrs. At this point in time im forgetting the one at www.proximus24hours.com as this appears to be more up to date. I counted 60 cars.
Thats good, 5 more than last year. |

It's quite a pity that it is so difficult to gather up-to-date information on the Spa 24hours. The official site isn't regularly updated. Almost no info on the RACB (Royal Automobile Club of Belgium). Only FIAGT.COM gives some info.
That's the only point where we can see a big difference with Le Mans. Let's hope they will improve this point for next year ! |

Also TV coverage is absoulte rubbish, well it is on Eurosport, we get what? 3hrs 30 mins max. And why? because of Moto GP and WSBK!! We need a REAL motorsport tv network...
btw what does everyone think of Sky sports perhaps getting TV rights to the LMT next year for Britan? They had the rights for the coverage of the ELMS and from what I remember did a great job. Would be great if they got the coverage again, better them than Eurosport. |

Well... i'll be off in a couple of hours to Francorchamps for my (I think) 22nd 24hours race... From Camaro's and Capri's to Maranello's and Saleens... It was a bumpy ride! I never forget the day we woke up on sunday and all was quiet, the race was stopped due to the king's death... Oh well, I just saw the the king the have now is alive and kickin'...
Another 5 days of fun with cars, beers and bbq's. We'll be camping near the "Rivage" curve So if you see two Dutch guys (wearing Jos Verstappen Caps) sitting there, soaked in Jupiler beer, that's us! vroAAarr |

spa 24
I was sad to see Nash end up running just one S7R. With a fleet of them I had hoped to see two or even three cars at Spa. Given the cost of a 24 hour race I do understand why they only entered one.
It is good that there are two Moslers in the race. Let us hope they can go the distance. Maybe there will be more MT-900s in '04 if they have a good run and then get FIA homologation. Are the Moslers racing in GTS or GT trim ? Last edited by Kurt Maxwell; 24 Jul 2003 at 06:20. |

Well Motors TV only covers bike racing as far as I am aware. I know it dosent screen Moto GP and WSBK anyway, the FIA GT package needs decent coverage, someone big such as Sky, ok so that would only be for Britan but its up to other countries to sort out their own coverage as far as Im concerned, thats the situation in F1, and everyone seems to manage. I remember when sky had coverage for the ELMS, and to be honest it was a heck of a lot better than what Eurosport give the LG SRW, and the ELMS as we all know was a much weaker series.
Either that or why cant Eurosport expand to 2 channels like most other major TV networks? I know they have Eurosport News, but I mean why not have "Eurosport 2" for example? That way they could cover Moto GP, WSBK as well as LG SRW. U mention 100,000 at Brands hatch for WSBK, thats true yes, but last year the Spa 24hrs also got 100,000 people. I dont have a problem with Eurosport showing WSBK live obviously as thats great, I quite like it. But does everyone really want to see the support races too? Id say the FIA GT, ETCC, Formula Renault V6 has a higher profile than them. And give it maybe a year or so and the FIA GT package will be up there with WSBK and Moto GP. Particulary now manufacturers are joining, and the FIM are wrecking the WSBK package for 04... |

Indeed a very nice grid! It seems that there are a lots a cars that didn't set a time in the third session.
Lets hope the #14 Lister will make it to the start. Last edited by Wout; 25 Jul 2003 at 14:55. |

www.pitstop.tv (belgian motorsport site) writes:
The Lister will start from the back of the grid tomorrow, but without Bas Leinders! Laurence Pearce doesn't want Bas driving a Lister ever again. Pearce holds Bas responsible for the accident yesterday in which the Lister was badly damaged. Bas thinks this decision is too drastic and says he needed time to adjust to the right hand drive. |

Id agree with Bas there, hes never even driven the car before. Laurence does over-react on quite a lot of issues too it has to be said. Having 3 drivers in the car is going to make the race a lot harder also, not impossible by all means. But it will make it a lot harder, I hope Laurence re-thinks this decision. Everyone makes mistakes, even him. Bas is a young fast driver and I think can do a good job.

According to DSC, Leinders is definitely out- but they will be running with 4 drivers- Tom Coronel is taking over the seat.
