CLIPSAL MARCH 30 to APRIL 2 2006
The authorities have announced the Clipsal 500 for 2006 will be March 30 to April 2 2006. It will be Meeting 2 of 2006 apparently and has been so arranged to fit into a "hectic" March in Adelaide and the asssociated pressure on accommodation.

Which is already getting pretty late in the year...
The '06 Calendar is likely to start in February... and perhaps with an away round for the first one... |

Yes and sold off ETSA, etc, etc!!
But on a motoring note, it was the absolute disinterest by the bi-lingual Lynn Arnold Premier that cost us the AGPin 1993-1994! More interested in "Artists-in-residence at Trades Hall". That's why it is very important that TC doesn't get up Mike Rann and/or Kevin Foley's nose!!!!! Mike |

peckstar,
I mean recording travel "on paper" for record purposes!!! Not actual travel dates! Or is there a "cut off" date for FBT purposes? Mike Last edited by mmciau; 13 Apr 2005 at 20:41. |

31 march
im sure i could fudge it but that would be dishonest and illegal plus i would have to falsify my fuel records and it would leave me with extra to do for the next year, i will just have to go to another round |

I hope you mean another round "as well", rather than instead?
Look at it this way, you will be ahead on your mileage for the following year.... |

UPDATE:
Ive just heard the date has changed again due to the Aus GP being held on the same weekend (March 30-April 2). The boss of SA Motorsports Board has apparently said the Clipsal event will now be held from March 23-26. More changes than a fashion model, damm those commonwealth games. |

The spin given in Adelaide on the Ch10 News @ 5 was that it clashed with the F1 - it WILL clash with the Commw Games plus several other Adelaide functions.

I believe that the F1 was penciled in for the weekend of April 2, with com games finished the weekend before that (allowing several of the corporate sponsors in the country and sporting personalities the ability to be present for both weekends/events), i doubt that they would put clipsal against the com games closing days? i would say that a clipsal on march 10-12 is a better idea, and have a round previous to this which would be the opening round (eg Adelaide is R2).

Is there any possibility of them leaving the Clipsal that same weekend? What do you lot reckon? Ignoring the logistics required to attend one event or the other, which would you rather go to - the AGP at Albert Park or the Clipsal 500 at Victoria Park? (Just thought of that - bl00dy Vics get into everything! ) |

For a Victorian the real problem is a toss up between AFL or the GP on the weekend in question
