Nordic should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Chris Nixon

British motorsport historian and writer Chris Nixon died last week.

His most acclaimed book Mon Ami Mate, the story of Mike Hawthorn and Peter Collins is written with much insight and vison and is a benchmark other books could be judged by

Nixon was found dead at his home by friends last week.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Chris probably had the rarest, most delicate touch when storytelling. Mon Ami Mate is a wonderful book, authoritative, accurate and above all, human.

He'll be missed more than he might ever have imagined.

Terrible news. I am fortunate to posess a signed copy of Mon Ami Mate. A book I've read at least three times.

RIP Chris.

Yes, very sad indeed, particularly since he was only 67 (according to Autosport). I'm fortunate enough to own several of his books. He was a fine writer and contributed immeasurably to the recording of Motor racing history.
