Biggest motorsport success for Opel since winning the Nürburgring 24h with the Astra back in 2003.

In an ideal world, they'd take out a page in Bild tomorrow to congratulate Proczyk... I'm not really holding my breath on that one, though.

Shame about some unnecessary robustness, but some good racing otherwise.
Shades of the 1992 BTCC finale ...

And what was the reason for the warning? He did nothing particularly wrong, as far as I saw in race 1.

Surprising that such a national series like TCR Germany can go abroad a few good times while BTCC has to stick to British tracks only.

But yeah, the calendar is really good and WTCR should look at it.

TCR Germany, like the ADAC GT3, isn't that national though. Of course the majority of the teams and drivers are German, but because the competitiveness and the big fields it attracts plenty of drivers from the countries around Germany, like The Netherlands and Austria. The fact that there isn't a Channel in between the countries helps as well

Yes, all the reasons you gave are absolutely true and logical. But it's somehow sad that BTCC - arguably the biggest national touring car series (I'm not including DTM here) - can't go at least once abroad + once to Ireland while ADAC TCR Germany races in four different countries. But good on them, it's a good calendar and I believe German TCR is the most popular of all national TCR championships.

I heard rumors that some teams barely have money for fuel to Knockhill let alone to go to Ireland.
I heard that, doesn't mean it's true...

This would mean the BTCC seems like a miserable amateur championship pretending to be Britain's biggest motorsport series...

Without wishing this to turn into a BTCC thread, the series doesn't need to go abroad. Their core audience are the thousands of (UK based) fans who stand trackside at every meeting, and the vast majority of sponsors are UK based companies promoting their brand to UK based customers. There is zero benefit to either of those groups from holding a race outside the UK.
