Firstly, where did you find this 'information'? Is it just wishful thinking?
And secondly, when you posted this at the other forum, you managed to spell 'SPONSOR' correctly!  Assuming there's only one "vauxhall"...

Umm... perhaps that's the name without a sponsor? It's always been the Esso/Auto Trader Rac British Touring Car Championship.

Yeah-the BTCC has always been the RAC BTCC, but in the 90s it had a title sponsor (Esso then Auto Trader).
