Any UK tv coverage or online coverage of this series?

Im guessing they are all Dallara's in this series too?

Nope. JB Motorsport runs two Lolas for Vervisch and Verdonck and there's also a Ligier of Josef Kaufmann Racing (but not in the last round for some reason). In 2006 there were two SLCs too.

Ho Pin Tung won the 2006 Cup in Lola-Opel...

Some video footage at italiaracing.net

a ligier? Awesome

Is it competetive? Would it give the Mygale a run for it's money?

The Ligier doesn't race anymore for now, because it is not as good as the Dallara the other teams use (except for JB, they use the Lola B06/30). Vietoris drove the first two race weekends in Hockenheim and Oschersleben with it, but he was the only driver, so very difficult to improve as there is/was no other data available from e.g. a team mate. Later on the Nürburgring, another driver took over the Ligier JS47 and Vietoris drove in the Dallara... and the difference was clearly visible: the Dallara was so much faster.

You can find highlights of the races here: http://www.formel3.de/index.php and then on the right side of the screen, there is a button "Video Magazine". Commentary is in German, not in English.

This weekend in Assen, there was a Mygale M07 running also for the first time in this championship. It was the first full race weekend for the driver David Hauser (Luxemburg), so maybe later he will get better results in it.

How competitve is German F3 this year after the top 5? I notice Dominick Muermans is 9th and he hasn't even done all the rounds because he was competing in Atlantics and IFM, and really he isn't a quick driver whatsoever. He ended his only British F3 outing this year with his nose-cone dug into the gravel and his car balancing straight up in the air for 10 seconds before landing upside down!

I agree, with exception of the top 5, German F3 hasn't been that strong this year. Even some guys in that Top 5 haven't really achieved much before.

The grids are usually quite small, with 15-20 cars or so? It is odd, because last year they had close to 30 I think!

Yeah IMO it looked a lot stronger last year (where has Ferdinand Kool gone?). I think Marco Holzer should have done German F3 this year, he has had a dreadful year in Europe, he would have been a decent addition to the ch'ship. I think the top 5 drivers are good though, Vietoris is going to test for BMW in November as the reigning FBMW world champion so it will be interesting to see how he does. Van Dam has always been good. And Nico Verdonck was a points scorer back in 2004 I think in International F3000. But the rest of the top 10 don't look anything special.

I think Ferdinand was on his way to the Megane Trophy this year, but it didn't happen.

Its not been great this year, only one Ligier has ever been built. Last year it was driven by Nico Hulkenburg - it was ok - was it worse than a Dallara - not obviously - but not clearly better.

German F3 is good but the grid isn't great.

It would be really nice if there was a strong F3 series in France

No, he wanted to race in DTM, but had no money for that... so he went for racing in the Benelux Racing League.

What about Vervisch then? Maybe he didn't achieve much until now, but he made a lot of progress during winter testing (2006-2007) and is even faster than Verdonck. Verdonck has the name of a fast driver, so if he gets beaten by Vervisch, that tells something about Vervisch being good. Today he won his fourth race of the season (ok, nothing compared to the nine victories of Van Dam) and has secured second place in the standings. Oh, and even Van Dam got beaten on some occasions by Vervisch. If the Belgian had had more luck on the Eurospeedway (drive shaft broken twice in the same weekend) and during other races, he could have beaten Van Dam for the championship. I'm sure Vervisch is still not at the end of his capacities. Mind my words...

Does anyone speak Latvian?

http://autosports.delfi.lv/public/32998.html
http://autosports.delfi.lv/public/33096.html
http://autosports.delfi.lv/public/33111.html

Well... I don't But my guess is that Karlīne Štāla has signed some kind of contract with HWA/MB and will drive in German F3 Cup in 2008 (and 2009?), then move to Euroseries and possibly later have a change to a DTM-drive...

Apparently she has tested with Racing Experience team and will drive their car this year (will they enter an old Mygale?).

However, as I already said, I don't speak Latvian so this may or may not be true

Found something in English: http://www.racing-experience.lu/news/meeting28.php

btw, she isn't actually the first woman to win a single seater championship... Sanna Pinola won the last Scandinavian F3 championship in 2001

Didn't she test a WSR car, as a price for winning the Belgium FR1600 last year?
