BEC LMP1 for 2011
Look at this beauty on Mariantic today.
http://www.baileyedwardscars.co.za/i...d=86&Itemid=86 That thing looks like a fighter jet. Hopefully this is legit. I like to see privateer closed cockpit cars like the Epsilon Euskadi and the Dome. This would fit right in! Anyone know anything about him? Is he a dreamer? It says it is a P2 car... Last edited by Canada ALMS fan; 8 Apr 2010 at 16:52. Reason: spelling |

Looks like an interesting project.
The release also states that it's been underway for over eighteen months, and says they're planning on running an all South African team. Any bets on drivers? |

will wait until I see a bit more about it to judge, but I wish them all the best with their project, great to see interest from further afield than Europe

Would this be the first African designed/built sportscar to race?

Looks great. When I was in South Africa a few years ago I spoke to a couple of people about motorsport who felt that since the last F1 race, there had been little to get excited about in terms of motorsport in the country - if this comes off I'm sure there will be a lot of dormant race fans to lend popular support.

So, which Le mans Series would a race at Kyalami go under?

Possibly as part of the Intercontinental Cup too? It would add another continent to that title.

Based on the cost this would be a welcome competitor to the Oreca in FLM and LMPC classes. |

It does look very good, but a set of renderings do not make a completed car. I hope they do get on the grid, and new LMP class chassis has to be a good thing. I notice it is being designed as an LMP2 car, any bets on the engine? I assume both the Porsche 4-litre flat 6 and Ferrari 4.3 litre V8 will be available as P2 engines under the new 'production based' rules

Since when is Wiet Huidekoper German?
I hope the car looks better in real live, the proportions seem off. |
