Super Car Challenge and Asian GT Championship are different series. AGT is organized by FRD: http://www.frdsports.com/en/press/content/supercar.htm

yes its a diferent champiionship. ASCC is the ASIA GT championship, asia gt is a dream of frd. No register in fia and no more than 10 entries and those 10 just race cuase the first race was zhuhai and most of them were guest drivers. ASCC has 30 drivers confirmed so far and will have more because they are drivers queuing for racing with supercar club. most of gt drivers in asia are from hk and hk people goes with the REAL asia gt championship, ASCC!!!

If you check FIA calendar, ASCC isn't there either...

from what I heard they already registered, otherwise they may get trouble.

Moreover I don't think either AGT or ASCC is real GT level, even though teams are professional behaivour, drivers are gentlemans.

And I prefer using correct name, because there are too many silmiar series in different cetogries.Name didn't affect the level to championship.

I have seen the Asiac Super Car Challenge last year at Zhuhai. And I have to say it was nice GT Racing. Ok, there were only Cup Cars like 996 and 997 Cup or Challenge Ferraris and the drivers were all gentlmen, but they did everything they could. Nice Fights during the complete race, absolutly nice to watch.

ASCC is closer to the FIA GT3 regulations. AGTC is just whatever super car you can find.

superjohn should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
hi everybody. this is John from Supercar Club Hong Kong (SCCHK). we are the sole organiser for Asia Supercar Challenge (ASCC). this year, we have decided to partner with AFOS and CFO. thanks to all your interests in our event.

if anybody wish to learn a little bit more about ASCC, you can watch some exciting videos here, requires RealPlayer. http://www.g-me.com.hk/index.aspx?cid=0104&da_count=4

back to some facts for 2008
- ASCC is registered on the FIA calendar, via the HK Automobile Association as our ASN.
- ASCC is no longer a partner with FRD, for obvious reasons as stated here in the other section in this forum; http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...=103686&page=6
- recently, some people from the FRD Asian GT series threatened our drivers that if they do not support AGT, then their cars can no longer be shipped back to Zhuhai circuit.
- these people also advised ASCC drivers that their cars can never be allowed to race in Shanghai this weekend April 17-20, because SCCHK do not have the connections in China. however, the Federation of Automobile Sports of China (FASC) has already signed a circuit approval letter for the Shanghai race to go ahead.

later, i shall be happy to announce more facts and plans for ASCC in 2008.

best wishes to all.

Both ASCC and Asian GT are registered on FIA calendar (11/04/08 version) at the moment. ASCC is only registered for Shanghai (17/4); while Asian GT is registered for Shanghai (19/04, 24/5) and Zhuhai (20/9).

AGT results from Shanghai:

Apparently it was also an Aston Martin Asia Cup race (5 GT4 Vantages).

of the 14 drivers in the Asia GT Championship, 6 were competing in the Asia Supercar Challenge earlier in the week, and the several Aston Martin drivers were there for the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia.

so it will be interesting to see how many drivers remaining will compete in the Asia GT Championship when it is in Sepang for the (Japan) Super GT weekend in June 20-22

Juntos is a back marker
My shout! ASCC revamped as GT3 Asia. Mastercar won 3x ASCC and returned to Europe. They were too long back of beyond.
