Who will finish third in the championship?

ok....i know its only third, but at least its something to keep us watching till the end of the race. I am banking on both BMW's to blow up and DC take third.

But DC needs to finish second in the race, aswell as both Williams not scoring and one of the Ferrari's has to finish behind him. I'm going for JPM to finish 3rd in the race and the championship.

Montoya has the starting advantage on points, and the best recent form, and I'm sure Ralf won't be so stupid for 2 successive races. DC could nab 4th though.

I've got a sneaky feeling that DC will pip Rafe for 4th also. Suzuka hasn't always been one of Rafes best circuits.

It sod's law that at the last two races of the season every year, the engine manufacturers finally sort out their reliability before they do it all over again next year.

I think as long as Ralf and Monty don't take each other out, I'd put my money on Monty. It would really give him a psychological advantage for next year.

JPM. It will only take a serious amount of bad luck to rob him of it.

Montoya is the most likely driver to win third place.

Ralf is fast but not aggresive enough.. Coulthard is fast and aggressive but not consistent..
Monty seems to be the man to do it.. Unless reliablity intervenes.. I am looking for the Williams team to really make a go at it considering that it is the last race and pschologically it would be good to finish the season on a high.

That could be said for JPM if his engine didn't blow at Canada or Monaco.

Don't fear, i'm not, just pointing out that the championship would look different if JPM hadn't have blown up also, just imagine how Kimi would be looking in the WDC if he hadn't have had such bad luck at the beginning of the season?

Well Kimi's had bad luck virtually the entire season, nto jsut those 5 successive non-scores early in the year, of course if he misses the point sin Japan he'll be finishing with 4 retirements as well, none of it his fault. Don't forget that Rubens had a dreadful unlucky start as well, and Spain and Silverstone too, so Montoya maybe owuldn't get close to second with equal luck to Ralf. But he'd be well clear of Ralf, DC and Kimi.
