Jamie Smyth for choosing to contest the Southern FF1600 series, despite living in North Wales
Steve Roberts for his blistering pace in NW FF1600
Ed Moore for dominating at Combe
And Gavin Wills for a good start in the SOM FF1600s.
There is nothing like going for the favourites is there?

kartingdad has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Steve Roberts is the man of the moment.

Driving well, setting some mega times, but Jnr Jnr is on his way....

no one notice Chris Chisnall? set a time in his RF86 in qual that would have put him on the front row in the post 87 race!! surely the most exciting young prospect in FF,....would have made for an interesting combined race... then some accident prone tos sers wouldnt have gotten a race... shame!!
How about it Diz ? the first 26 get to race the rest go home ..might get better next time or stay out of the way!!

Chisnall's been very good when out front, but I've not seen him overtake anyone yet in FF1600. He can do it (see Mallory Park, Boxing Day, Caterham) - but be nice to see him in a straight fight with the newer cars.

Inside of row 2 Dave and Anglesey - like Fosters - can start 26, so all would have raced anyway. Don't forget that F1 used to have qualifying to get onto a 26 car grid, but the slower teams got 'forced out' and now they struggle to provide a spectacle with 20

Mark Bates in SOM for bringing the necessary spice

But Gavin Wills makes **** starts
probably a good job he does

We should probably add Peter Daly for his rocket fuelled starts...he lead the Monoposto race at Mallory until Shaws on lap 1 from 9th (I think) on the grid

Gavin's only made one really bad start this season, and that was on Sunday. Last year was a different matter though.

I endorse your comments about Chris Chisnall and think your views on Mike Bibby are balanced and well thought out...straight from the 'Attila the Hun' school of management.

The credits for Coronation St show 'Chris Chisnall' as the lighting man, is this his day job?

Very true. He started eigth and I was tenth and he went into Gerrards to take the lead round the outside and I was pretty close behind him.

Mind you most of the grid were still, at that stage, waiting for the green light to come on...

It always make you feel safer to know that the people you're racing with don't know the rules and haven't bothered to read their instructions, NOT!

Stephenrae,
as you are aware my comments were not meant for Bibby but the backmarker responsible for nearly 2 grands worth of damage to my car....thats racing..."my balanced and well thought out opinion" is that slower cars should try not to get in the way ,or take up golf...hows your handicap?

Chris Chisnell was mighty quick in qualifying and drove well in both races. I would like him to race in the post 86 class, i would like the chance to race against 'the most exciting prospect in ff'.

For me though the drive of the weekend, as i have said before, was jnrjnr's. He did some impressive times in race two and his charge up the pack was brilliant in race one, considering the overtaking difficulties at anglesey.

The time that Chisnell did in the pre 87 car is most impresive I would like to see him in a newer car as he should give Steve a good race I think. So he and Ian should both get the drivers of the day as its not easy to pass five cars round Anglesey.

Dont forget Bibby drove a good 2nd race from the back to get a podium he was just unlucky in the first.

Diz I know they did just thought I would mention it again!

For me, the best drive of the weekend was Mark Jones in the second Pre87 race. Mark was doing his second ever meeting in a Van Diemen RF79 and spent 15 laps in a mega four car dice behind three very experienced drivers.
Sadly, he won't be out again until the last round in September, as that is all the budget will stretch to.
Any sponsors out there?
