2005 Club Racing Calendars

To get this one going I've posted the Classic Touring Car Racing Club's Provisional Calendar. As good a place as any to start.

05/03/05 Silverstone (SUNBAC)
28/03/05 Thruxton + Classic & Historic
14-15/05/05 Brands Hatch (Post Historic Double Header)
04/06/05 Oulton Park (Group 1 Double Header)+ Classic & Historic
19/06/05 Mallory Park + Classic & Historic
17/07/05 Cadwell Park
06-07/08/05 Lydden Hill
29/08/05 Donington Park + Classic & Historic
10-11/09/05 Snetterton (Classic Thunder Double Header)
24-25/09/05 Pembrey

The pre 66 series lost its championship status last year even though the racing was top class. However it is still running with the club and to encourage the owners of the cars it has four races this year.

Each Championship has eleven rounds, of which one event will be a "double header".

For clarity (and Marcus):

The Classic Touring Car Racing Club runs championships for:

Post Hitoric (pre 74), Classic Group 1 (Pre 83) Touring cars and Classic Thunder.

In addition it runs a non championship series for Pre 66 Classic and Historic Touring Cars.

Wow, Mono get to play on the GP circuit at silverstone - that has got to be worth a go as I have only ever raced on the national circuit.

I would post some dates but everything is very provisional at the moment...

Perhaps when the National Racing calendars are finalised they could be incorporated into the site somehow?

Provisional they may be Ian, but in my experience they don't change dramatically from first issue unless something drastic occurs like the UK getting a second GP.
If you've got some caledars let's put them up. Any changes can be re posted.

Is that for the "into the dark" race at Brands in November, Rod?? It was getting pretty dark out there this year.

It has been an issue at some events when weather conditions, including light, has deteriorated. Drivers have complained about not seeing other cars, and rather than wait for an incident (or even cancel races) it was decided to act now. This gives drivers plenty of time before the start of the new season.

Silverstone GP is the BRDC meeting which features the Jim Walsh Trophy - I think categories were invited to join the programme based on their standing within club racing. Few would argue that Monoposto deserves to be there!

How nicely put Sam.

There seems to be quite a few meetings on the GP circuit this season, which should be interesting!
