However, Kimi replacing Kasey Kahne in the Red Bull car when Kahne goes to Hendrick next year makes alot of sense. Kimi is a Red Bull driver. Red Bull gave Scott Speed a Cup ride. Also Red Bull is a good team with a good car. Its up to Raikkonen if he wants it, IMO |

He should take it - would be great. How many more nationwide/truck races is he doing to get a "little" experience on the oval tracks before a possible full-time cup ride in 2012?

He said he's going back to Europe and rallying for now then "we'll see" about future NASCAR plans. He got an unpleasant taste of how hot and grueling it is to race a stock car in the summer. He sounded very miserable on the radio. Funny how his nickname is the "Iceman" but NASCAR got to him in just his 2nd race physically and mentally! Montoya was able to make the jump quickly because he had already spent alot of time in the United States racing and he liked living there so that was not an issue. For Raikkonen it may be an issue. Does he want to move to the United States? His Euro would be worth 40% more when transferred to the dollar but its not all about money. Montoya also had Chip Ganassi. Ganassi provided Nationwide and Cup cars for Montoya. Kimi is paying money out of his own pocket to use these cars. If Kimi commits to a Cup season in 2012 Red Bull would be wise to provide him Nationwide cars for every race weekend this year that does not interfere with rally to prepare him better for Cup. If he doesnt commit there is no point in him ever coming back. Racing every couple of months will never give him the experience needed to run competitively. Top 20s in a feeder series surely cant be acceptable to someone only 4 years removed from being a World Champion |

I can't see KR doing the week in, week out thing. I can see the American media fall out of love with him too.

The long season is indeed THE reason why I think he will not join NASCAR, at least not fulltime. Maybe a part season with all road courses and a few ovals.

The 4 car needs a driver for next season, the KK going to the 5 car.
