Damon should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Well done Kimi and JPM

What a hard fought but totally fair battle that was between the two young stars of the sport. To run wheel to wheel through nearly half a lap was awesome. It seems the Mclarens had a taste of what the Williams had last weekend (grip wise).

Yes. Very exciting wheel to wheel. It seems like Montoya is finally learning how to bid his time and instead of overtaking at the start (he backed off) and risked finishing his race there, he patiently waited for his chance.

Perhaps the apprentice has finally learned something from the master.

Absolutely. That was a great battle. Well done to both of them for not touching during that fight. My view of Kimi is becoming higher by the race - today the car clearly let him down, but he's showing great maturity, and that duel is a perfect example.

Juan Pablo has also improved of course - he's biding his time in the races and making some excellent passes.

Hate to stir up a storm, but if it was MS and Montoya instead of Montoya and Kimi respectively, would folks here view it the same way? I know I would. Would you?

I understand ttc's point, but I hope this thread doesn't turn into another pointless pro vs. anti Schumacher debate.

I would encourage people to think twice before responding to ttc's challenging question. Nuff said.

Ok ttc to your question, if JPM had pulled that move on schu it would have looked all the better .

If the battle had been fought exactly the way it was, why would there be a problem?

But let's not derail the topic. This was Kimi vs. JPM, not TGF vs. JPM.

You obviously missed my "respectively"...

I meant if JPM was in the "receiving end" a la Kimi...

freud has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Both were great! Hadnt Kimi made that small mistake which let JPM past, it wouldve continued for a little more But, as R points out above, my view of Kimi is rising... he had the instinct and courage to hold his place against a stronger car.

Stupid ITV!!!!!!!!! GGRRRRR!!!, not only missed the battle totally by going to a break, but they only showed half of the battle in slow motion, does anyone else hate slow motion replays, and just wish they'd replay things normal speed?

I listened to the battle on Five Live, did JPM do Kimi at the hairpin, and they were side by side until the Sachs Curve? Thats what it sounded like to me.

The current crop of F1 drivers are supposed to be the top 22 drivers in the world. The get paid millions. So I suppose we should really expect ALL of them to be able to battle like this lap after lap. Its amazing that this thread has been started after there is ONE half-lap scrap.

While I agree that it was great, it just goes to show how boring F1 really is!!!
