Historic Grand Race Ahvenisto

Most of the race discussed here are held in the UK or near the UK, so something new is needed.

Finlands greatest (IMO, at least) non-rallying event is being held this weekend at the Ahvenisto Race Track, Finlands oldest active circuit.

Historic Touring and GT-cars from periods E up to I, including a '64 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport.

In Historic Formula there are mainly Formula V cars along with a few FFord and F Super Vee. Also there is Formula 4 (=90's F3 with a stock Golf GTI engine).

Then there's Subaru Sport, SS1300 and Locost, which run in the same race. Subaru Sport is (I think) comparable to Sports 2000 cars: Van Diemen chassis powered by a 2.2 litre Subaru engine.

A very popular class is Mini 1000. Do I need to explain it more?

Other popular class, at least for the spectators, is Roadsport.
It is diveded into 6 sub-classes: V8, A, B, C, 2A and 2B.

V8 has, you guessed it, a V8 engine as a requrement. It has to be over 3.5 litres and must be naturally aspirated. A, B and C are defined by power-to-weight ratio: A=3.8-5.49 kg/hp, B=5.5-6.99 kg/hp and C=7 kg/hp
These cars have to have been homologated or type-approved before 1985 and building is relatively free.

Roadsport 2 is for newer cars, homologated or type-approved before 1997. 2A is for cars over 2 litre, B for under.

The Ahvenisto track is just awesome. The layout is still the same as it was in 1967 when it was founded. It's very demanding with over 30m elevation changes.
