Sorry for multi post.
This is a blog which introduces a new Japanese one-make GT series (Inter Proto Series).
JMIA (Japan moror-racing industry association) members are concerned with development of this car.
Therefore, it will become a hint of the future Mother chassis plan of JAF-GT300.

Also, I find it funny that the "international" drivers always start the race, leading the Japanese to take the checkers...Japanese nationalism is still going strong I see.

That's not always the case. It seems the international drivers are getting the good starts to races to set up their Japanese teammate. Both are equally important IMO.

No NSX. It's mid engined, GT500 are FR layout. NSX is no longer in production either.

well HSV-010 hasn't a street version at all... if i remeber well the rule of mandatory FR layout in gt500 has been abolished after 2010 season, i can't check if i'm right or not because in the official site the regulamentation section isn't available anymore.

Don't know where you read about that but that's not true in the slightest, and even if there was an inkling for the JAF to do so, it was shot down long ago with their move to unify regs with DTM.

And they do have to get a HSV-10 on the street at some point, I remember the JAF granting Honda some amnesty for not having a homologation car because the JAF pushed the NSX out the door.

Yeah, they'll have to make a front engined rwd car soon, because the new NSX concept is mid engined. Maybe they'll race the Accord coupe! Joking.

Re: HSV-010 street version, this is an interesting topic. I'm hearing people say that Honda "have to" build it to be eligible for GT500 since the car was first announced for SGT in 2009. Yet, they are now in their 3rd season with this car in GT500 with absolutely no hint that they will do it (street version). Maybe the JAF didn't require them to build a homologation model since as aneesh99 said, the JAF kicked their NSX out of the series in the first place?

However, an HSV for the road would be welcomed, even if only available with an "earth dreams" V6

They don't 'have to' build the HSV. But if they're going to unite with DTM, what do you suggest they use? The CRZ? That's why the joke was made by me saying they'll race the Accord Coupe! I wonder if DTM/SGT merger will allow them to have a special prototype vehicle that didn't make production? But the SC430 from Lexus is no longer made either. I expect new cars in a year. LFA possibly for Lexus and who knows if Honda continue with the HSV.

Audi has unveiled their new monocoque for the DTM 2012, some japanese Motorsport rumors saying, it could be an unified monocoque for SGT 2014 too?

Honda will probalby use the NSX if they wanted to race in the merged series. They would simply put the engine in front like the HSV. Its not something that has not been done before. In GT300 the Corolla is mid-engined mysteriously while road going is a tame front engined front wheel drive.

well for sure the presence of a masked DP car would be a little paradox for a champ that like gt300 that is slowing becoming the japanese gt3 champ, however i'm sorry about this because i really like that car, until 2011 was the most esthetically impressive daytona prototype car.
