Vessy F3 MAE Downdraught in HSCC F3 1000cc Racing

I have recently been involved again in the 1000cc F3 Racing.A great friend of mine has a 1967 French Gerca,of which only 4 were ever made from memory.This very rare chassis is being rebuilt with assistance from Andrew Tart and a little from myself to enable it to be eligible in the HSCC Historic 1000 cc "Screamer" series.
At this time I find it very interesting to find out what other oddball chassis are out there.I myself raced and owned a Cooper T76,T83,then Brabham BT21/21B,BT28,Lotus 59 F3 later converted F2 59B,BT28/29/35 which started off life as Mike Beutler's BT28#2 but converted to full BT35 spec by Motor Racing Enterprises with eventually inboard rear brakes and full BT35 bodywork.I raced in F Libre then F3 and F2 getting David Cole and Peter Gaydon to drive the 59B in 1970 as well as myself albeit too slowly,from 1966-71,finishing in 71 with first year of Yellow Pages Formula Atlantic.This encompassed the whole of the 1000cc F3 except for the 1965 season.Only very few one offs appeared as the racing was incredibly tight and so very close.The Ginetta F3 and the Chequered Flag Chas Beattie Daffs(Brabham copies) much later Brendan McInerney's Nemos and the Erhlich EMC,were the only ones I remember.After I stopped midway through 71 as a career got in the way,I dabbled in wheeling and dealing with Mike Knight.We bought up a series of the old 1000cc cars plus current then BT38s BT40s,and so found eager buyers for now out of date F3 cars to be converted in the main to Twin Cams.
There has appeared a Vessy F3 car with downdraught MAE,of which I must confess to never having seen of or heard off before,and so who built it and drove it?.I ask therefore if there are anymore of these oddballs out there to be registered under this series,and if so what chassis?Its great to see how much these cars are loved by the modern fans!It would therefore be very rewarding to find another such very rare chassis to be able to rebuild,so allowing another nearly unknown to resurface?

Not heard of the Vessey. I think Mike Fox from Dewsbury built a Vista for the 1000cc F3.

The Vesey F3 car has been raceed by current owner Kieth Messer for a number of years in the HSCC Historic F3 championship.


The Vesey was built by Richard Scott who also built the Centaur clubmans cars.

I remember it quite often appearing at Shelsley Walsh in the seventies/early eighties. It was driven by a Tim Collins who I presume also to be the owner.

The Vesey has been regularly campaigned by Keith Messer for many years now, and once again will be taking part HSCC's Historic Formula 3 Championship this year. First outing will be at Le Castellet in April, with visits to Donington, Cadwell Park, Brands Hatch Superprix, Zandvoort Historic Grand Prix, Castle Combe and Silverstone Finals in October.
