BARC are so short of marshalls for the Aug 5th meeting at Silverstone (caterhams, 2CVs etc) that they are serisouly considering cancelling. If you are a marshall then PLEASE PLEASE volunteer for this one.

Yes, it was cancelled on Monday: my post on Sunday was a last ditch attempt to try to get the meeting to run. I'd managed to source a rescue unit but BARC just didn't have enough marshals to run the event. They didn't want a repeat of what happened at Cadwell a few weeks ago so they cancelled now rather than waiting until nearer the time.

A great shame, but widening this out a bit it was a pretty poor line-up and you could see why marshals would perhaps give this one a miss in favour of, say, GP Masters the following weekend.
Just six races (including the one hour 2CV race) and excluding the two Caterham Academy races, which I didn't see a list for but would have expected 20+ cars in each, there were only 27 entries in total! I have to say, there seems to be a few very thin BARC meetings this year. A good argument for organising fewer events, as BRSCC did this year. |
