Aston Martin also one-two in GT1 The Corvette C6-R's 10th & 11th in class! Even the C5 outqualified them. Bad call, though in the end, that's not really important.

Nice work by Pescarolo to beat the Audi's to the whole front row.

The Corvette Racing team only did the obligatory 3 laps per driver. Tomorrow they will go for fast lap times. No worry whatsoever.

Methinks that you need to learn to read better. The words "Armco" and "Acemco" are similar, and yet, totally different.

The Audi didn't hit the Saleen.

the future of LMP1/LMP2...order your air conditioners now!
If this is the case, it is safe to assume that the Peugeot LMP1 will be closed.

It will very hard to meet the minimum weight with a diesel. The Audi R10 now weighs 935 kg, then add a roof and the mandatory airco (25 kg extra?). How difficult would it be for Audi to convert the R10 into a closed LMP1?

Erki has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I wouldn't want to see them all with closed roofs. I like variety, let themselves choose...

I'm happy with the choice as long as the regs make it viable to have a roof - closed cars are so much sexier........

Perhaps the Saleen has armco welded to the back instead of a bumper...........

Capello just chalked up a 3:34.505 in the #7 Audi

Now, just cut 1.87 seconds off that time and I'll win the Pole Contest

Remember last year, the Pole Time was about 2 seconds slower than the Test Day speeds, because it was hotter in quals, and no one was pushing the Pescas....

I expect the beginning of the final session, when the track cools off more, to see teams on qualifying tires and going for it for about the first 30-45 minutes beforre settling in and giving everyone their laps for racing set-ups....

The Pesca-Audi battle for the Pole is not going to be decided in this session, IMO

Montagny just turned a 3:33.374 in the #17 Pesca...

But Kristensen is now driving the Audi #7, Werner is in the Audi #8, and Collard is in the other Pesca...

It's "Shootout" time, ladies and Gentlemen!!!!

Collard on the Pole at the end of the third session..3:32.584

DSC reports that it is still warm there...

I still think the Pole will be decided in the first 30-45 minutes of the 4th and final session...

It isn't over yet....

Well that yellow flag was all but ignored. Apart from when it was so obvious. I wonder if anything will come of that.

Anyway most had baulked laps, so they may well have another go at the begining of the next session.

Audi holds front row with a 3:30.466 by Capello in the #7 and Werner with a 3:30.584 in the #8

Collard tried a hot lap and climbed out of the car...looks like Pesca #16 is conceding the pole.

Montagny is still in the #17

McNish in the car. RLM suggesting that it is a pole shot. I'm not so sure, but we'll see. Surely they are just race set-up now?

Why is the Binnie so slow? They have the best LMP2 chassis (Lola) and the Zytek engine is fantastic as well, but the speed is not there...

The GT2 pole sitter has some trouble:
Quote:
The No. 76 IMSA Performance Matmut Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, holding the provisional LM GT2 pole, crashed heavily towards the end of the lap; Luca Riccitelli was at the wheel. Team-mate Romain Dumas spoke about the problems the team faced

"Luca went off in the Karting curve; the car is badly damaged. A bunch of our mechanics went out to see the state of the car, and it appears that the chassis is bent. Even worse, Luca’s ankle has swollen to twice its normal size. We are not at all sure he will be able to drive this weekend. We put in a very good time, and we could have improved it. However, we do not know if we will be able to start the race."
Maybe Bouchut will get a drive in the end.
