MG Car Club - Coys MG Live - Silverstone 10-12 July 2009

Coys MG Live! - the best single marque 3 day event in the world is again happening, this year on Fri 10 July till Sunday 12 July. We welcome any and all who would like to marshal, young and old.

This year we are racing on the Friday afternoon as well as two full days over the weekend, and we need more volunteers for then. If you can help then we will transport you in the evening, using one or more of the classic buses in use around the infield during the day, to the White Horse in Silverstone village, buy you a pint or two, (or a cola for the softies!) and bus you back to the camp site (assuming you want a lift back if you're camping)

Saturday evening all marshals are invited to the Club's barbecue and beer in pit garage 5 as usual.

Please contact me via Julians website (www.marshals.org.uk) or the MG Car Club website (www.mgcc.co.uk/motorsport), or PM me here, if you can help
I look forward to meeting you all

Highly recommended event - I had a great time last year, even dabbled at assembly on the Friday and got to chat to some really friendly and enthusiastic owners.
Needless, to say, I've already signed up for this year!

As several of you have noticed, there are a few discrepancies in the information sent out, this is in the main due to some of the many last minute changes not being picked up and every article amended accordingly. All will become clear after the event!
In the meantime, if you are unsure, email/phone me for clarification.

Couple of posts merged into this one.

Have to say I'm looking forward to this simply because I love the circuit and haven't been there for two years. Might even get the MGB there for the weekend too.

If the weather reports are correct it could be singing in the rain. But fingers crossed it might leave us alont till the end of the day. Should be a cracking meeting if the weather stays kind.

All the marshals who helped me today ( green d type race 2 ) thank you very much . cars a bit of a mess but after a very thorough medical I seem to be just a bit bruised . whoever the gentleman was who came and talked to me while I was still in the car I owe you a very large beer.

Thanks to MG for a good w/end. At Copse on Saturday, the day only 30mins old and a full extraction, driver OK after a night at NGH. Sunday at Becketts, quiet day, only 1 report. Only one downside to the day, the longest race (55mins) and the smallest grid (13 cars), only to be followed by a 40+ grid over 8 laps. The BBQ on Saturday night was as good as usual, plenty of Speckled Hen. Thanks to Clive and company for making everybody welcome.Looking forward to next year.
