Dumbrell Penalised
No reason why as yet - Paul Dumbrell has been penalised 75 championship points this evening.
Overall Championship point scores to be adjusted accordingly. (Spelling correction only...) Last edited by RaceTime; 21 Mar 2004 at 09:18. |

Come on!!!
RaceCam was off the gas after contact with ?Todd Kelly and he left the door open. Any racer would stick his nose in... |

Yeah, it seems as though turn 8 is the dumbest corner in Australia. Maybe they should open it right up and make it absolutely flat bicky with ease. Did you notice that the opening that completely buggered Radisich's car and knocked him out made a reappearance... how easily we forget...
Let's make a list of cars over the years that have had a hankering for turn 8 concrete. Matt Coleman Kim Jane Steve Johnson Cam McConville Brad Jones Mark Winterbottom Todd Kelly Garth Tander Tony Longhurst Who else was there... way too many... |

Complete fool - should be excluded from the results and banned for at least 2 races.
But, of course, he drives a Holden and that gets you off just about anything (refer Bright, Skaife, Kelly). |

It surprises me that people like Morris and Dumbrell can double offend.... or anyone in particular, wouldn't you think after causing indidence, spins, or crashes, the driver would go and hit someone else.
Look at Dumbrell - after that T8 incident, a few laps later, he turned around Baird |

I think it's about time they reverted to the full GP circuit. All of this carnage is completely unecessary. Better still maybe they could build a purpose built circuit and do it right.

i agree, it was a bad incident, but Cam ( as much as i like him) was out of place, and not carrying enough speed into the corner.
A racing incident, not a nice one, but a racing incident. |

AJ, This may be the case at race-pace, but Cam had slowed dramatically...funny how Dumbrell caught up over 5 car-lengths under brakes

Anyone with any motorsport brain would know that 2 cars can't fit into turn 8. DUMBrell was far enough up initially but then braked and punted Cam.

75 points and a $10000 fine for Dumbrell. What a joke? So if your well up the inside of someone and they start cutting you off and you back off to get out of it and clip the rear bumper you get pinged. I'm sorry but i can't accept that its it completely wrong

I see Perkins Motorsport is appealing the penalty.

I glad that some people saw the same race as I was watching
McConville was losing speed he was passed by 2 or 3 cars but managed to shut the door on Dumbrell and was out of sorts and losing pace. Dumbrell was all over the back of him for a half a lap with Cam driving defensively coming down the back straight he left the door open a bit Dumbrell took his chance not to lose the others that were rocketing away |

If two cars don't fit, why didn't McConville drop behind? Or is there a new rule that if the car in front of you brakes early (due to an earlier incident, in this case with T.Kelly), and you suddenly find yourself catching up 5 car lengths, that you must slow to there speed and not pass??? Give me a break! |

SmokinJ what a lot of dribble, what race were you watching -
at turn 6 the order in that group was Cam,Greg Murphy, Todd Kelly, THEN Mr Dumbrell, at turn 7 Murphy got past Cam, the along the straight between turns 7 - 8 Kelly touched then passed CAM, THEN Mr Dumbrell stuck it up the inside of Cam no more than 30M before the corner. |
