Dumbrell??
Can anyone tell me if there is any news on Dumbrell? A couple of people have suggested that he is staying at Castrol next year. This can't be true can it? After two years with Castrol, which has included a fair amount of controversy and shafting people of the track, Perkins cant still want him. With the number of decent drivers currently sidelined and waiting for a drive, I think there are quite a number of other drivers who deserve his spot.

He is apparently staying at CPR. Not sure the car will be in Castrol colours though as at least one car in the CPR garage will probably be in BP colours.

Looks like he's staying for another year in Car 8.
The car in BP Colours is likely to be Car 7. |

Dumbrell won't be going anywhere.
They say the amount of money that his Father Gary throws at Larry is unbelievable |

Well that sponsorship on the front spoiler of the Perkins Motorsport cars that ADI or whatever it is is Paul Dumbrell's Fathers company. So as long as daddy is paying the bills he wont be going anywhere.

Dumbrell might be keeping a seat warm for Jack?

Jack has a long way to go before being a V8 Supercar driver and I wouldn't mind betting Jack has ideas on Europe and openwheelers.
Larry has a lot of faith in Paul and has known him for many years. Interteresting to note also that CPR has changed the pairings for Sandown and Dumbrell and Longhurst will be paired together, putting Davison and Whincup in the 3rd car. This reverses the earlier pairings of Dumbrell / Whincup and Longhurst / Davison. |

Romped it in, in year 2, but crashed and burned in Formula Holden so maybe the Konica thing was a bit of a peak on the radar, he had a fair back up that year too.

Unfortunately, this is a perfect example of money versus talent. DUMBrell has caused so much carnage (Adelaide is still his crowning achievement, followed closely by Barbagello) that if he was in any other team he'd be long gone. He hasn't even produced results of note. In the mean time, other talents waste away in other areas.
"Thanks Dad" is all I'll say. |

I thought that the inquiry cleared him of any contact at Adelaide? (Not excusing him for other incidents)

I think you will find it was blame, not contact, at Adelaide he was cleared of Big. Regardless of blame being cleared, the fact remained that he was the cause (he tapped McConville going into the sweeper)and was cleared on investigation. A more experienced or SMARTER driver would have backed out of the situation and had a go at the hairpin. It was an extreme lack of judgement.
