And yes, our representatives in the US of A don't seem to be taking the racing very seriously |

When we we're racing at Daytona we lived on Dunkin Doughnuts as that was the only place open en route from hotel to the track. Donuts for breakfast & lunch. The lack of food outlets inside the circuit was surprising.

Not told you this but me and Mrs Delta plus the kids went to Daytona to watch the racing way back in 1998.We had no tickets,no info, not a clue where to go ect ect. Just tuned up and were treated just fantastic!!!. All the marshalls were just so helpfull on the gates and with the car parking. The kids had name tags put on and we were shown to our seats. The atmosphere was wonderfull and the race fans so freindly. We still keep in touch now with some freinds we made out there.
Funny when I told them about my little team back here they were well impressed and said that in the USA my job title would be " CREW CHIEF"!!!!. |

Just looked at the map showing members on line - no-one where I am (Southern Costa Blanca near Orihuela). This just confirms what I have come to believe, I am invisible! Most noticeable when trying to arrange a pre/post race interview

Mike, The Villages is a huge 80 sq mile complex of retirement homes just like Disney (Stepford) for the over 55s with loads of golf courses & the biggest pick up bar in Florida - you'd fit right in
No Iain, we were with the hoi polloi in the infield - but you can't have everything BTW did I mention we're of to Daytona this morning to unload the car @ midday ready for practice tomorrow |

Ha ha, over 55's tell me about it! For the first time in my life I got an OaP's discount yesterday when we vsited the Kennedy Space Centre, she asked if I was over 55, I said yes and she knocked $4 off the entry! Seems 55 is the new 65 over here.
Claire in the Cruisin Bar Alligator tails were on the menu would that do instead of snae. Cliff will meet you at the track at 12am local time. Wayne, blimey where were you staying mate, there are places to eat every few hundred yards in the drive up South Atlantic way up to Speedway Boulevard! I am just gonna try a yankee breakfast in the Cracked Egg cafe right opposite the hotel. Actually I havnt been eating that much since overhere just in the evenings today I will make an exception. |

'Bout time you got to the racing bit, we are all waiting with baited breath...... On a different note, just watched HD TV for first time as it got here today. WOW, hope it ultimately includes motorsport coverage. |

Not so far, but new TV probably helps as well! Broadband is way faster here than was up north of county, so now I can upload vids onto YouTube! Will have to start using in-car seriously next year. Gas lighting? Apparently Snetterton may get electricity in the paddock soon...... |

Another thing Alan, take your passport if you want to do the gantry tour, I didnt and had to do the slightly more expensive grand tour, maybe they are still worried about Russian spies!!!! Actually thinking about it, how did she know I was British to ask for my passport, note to self, stop wearing knotted hankerchief on head and dark socks under sandels in hot climates!
