Kobayashi said he left Devries to do qualifying because his style of driving was more suitable. DeVries has experience on the Pirelli tires which degrade super fast so they feel he had a leg up on his teammates in getting a good fast lap.

I don't think I've ever enjoyed an ACO rules race qualifying session more. They now have the strength in depth in each category, and the format nailed.

So excited for the start of this race and within the first two minutes of broadcast proves what a joke it is having this race in Qatar. There is no one there. Hope they enjoy the dollars they were paid to have this there with no fans. There will be a 150K at Sebring in two weeks!!

Looking good for Porsche at the moment, four cars in the top six, albeit 3rd-6th.

Keep an eye on Vanthoor, he looks quicker than both Jota Porsches.

Looks like trying to overtake that Ferrari is a bad idea for Christensen, ended up in position losses each time he tried

The leading Peugeot really checked out, looks very good in the race!

I assume Muller just got it wrong there? But his contact with Vanthoor is being investigated, a penalty is likely to follow.

The other notable penalty was the 50, which was doing well, crossed pit lane entry line and got a drive through. Very Ferrari.
