NZ V8 racing is far superior to the Aussie Supercars as a spectacle - actual racing is far more entertaining than glitz and glamour with little substance. Following the Aussie model would be a step backwards (given they are doing a poor impersonation of NASCAR) - good to see NZ motorsport showing the lead (as has been the case since the 50's) and creating a product for the market it's in!

YES please - more makes (no matter what's underneath) racing is always more fun than having the old fashioned tribal Ford V Holden which gets a bit dead end after a while (see Aussie Supercars)

And for the record the TV3 coverage is outstanding - loved the Pukekohe coverage! Some rough edges but as a package it's going to be great and again the Aussie coverage could take some cues from TV3 - good to see The Rock crew gone - enthusiastic but no idea at all about technical aspects of racing and Ford V Holden rubbish gets old real quick.

i'm not sure how many people would agree with you. the commentary team still needs A LOT of work before they could be considered outstanding.

i totally disagree with the Ford vs Holden battle being old! judging by how many people turn up in red or blue.. i'd say they'd agree with me. the "them against us" thing is one of the reasons people are so passionate about NZV8's (and Supercars). while adding more brands would be great .. i just hope it doesn't water down the passion the fans have for the class.

are they the ones that are upset over 888's move and claim they'll never watch a V8 Supercar race ever again?

Sadly we don't seem to be getting any coverage of NZ up here any more. We used to get a pretty good highlights package on one of the magazine shows, but that ceased a couple of years back.

Having been to both, in terms of wheel to wheel racing, NZV8's is more fun to watch.

ok thats cool, was just wondering because your answer suggested that V*SA might have some positives over NZV8's and i was just wondering what they were if any.

It's apples and oranges to me. They both do a pretty good job of working with the markets they have.

Well Paul Manuall will be the first to run a Ford engine in a Holden after blowing up his motor at ruapuna.

Well if anyone would like to watch the NZv8's you can watch it I have been told this will work for any where in the world.

http://www.tv3.co.nz/TVOnDemand/tabid/890/Default.aspx

hope you enjoy it and see the FOLDEN take it's first win.

Very, very, very disappointing effort by Manuell! Paul could've at least spun the car around before the finishing line.. so the Holden parts finished before the Folden *cough* bit

I've only watched part of the 3rd race from Teretonga so far, which is the first for this year, but I have seen most of the previous seasons one way or another.

I like the new live coverage from what I have seen.
